Advanced Driver Tuning

Summit Point Raceway - Jefferson

About this event

Advanced Driver Tuning

Driver Training from world renowned BSR presented by Haasmobility

Spend the day enjoying pure driving pleasure. We provide the car, you just arrive and drive. Explore the limits of traction, effective weight transfer, and truly effective use of your vision while piloting a purposely prepared Police Interceptor. The beauty of this opportunity is that you will clearly understand how the weight is manipulated, how the traction works, and what it means to manage your resources effectively. There is no hiding from physics in these cars and that's the whole point. The best part is that the ever vigilant technicians at BSR make sure the car is ready for you.  Take a look at some laps in a BSR trainer.  http://youtu.be/NyP1fST84Zo

Why would someone choose to spend good money on driving a Crown Vic?

Well first of all it's a Police Interceptor; a car that has been universally chosen for its performance, durability, and handling.  These cars are legendary.

While driving the ubervagen of your fantasies or your track car on that rare day when it's perfect you will never really address the essence of your skill in those cars.

I love driving the CVPI because it really transmits weight and balance as they relate to my steering, braking and throttle.  This car vividly rewards skill but rarely bites.

BSR instructors come with the package.  With experience from racing and tactical driving they know what works and can apply that to your objectives and talents.

Three students in the car enjoy the unique opportunity to compare their performance and refine continually as they develop while observing the other team members.

The principles of driving safely at speed are universal.  Because you see cause and effect in the Crown Vic it is very easy to apply every time you drive a vehicle.

Our tires (we replace a set about every 4 days), our brakes, our gas.  You will be encouraged to lock up tires, optimize slip angle, and manage skids. No worries.

Take a look at this video of laps around the extended Jefferson Circuit and notice that the car is constantly at or near the limit of traction.  Its easy to forget this is a huge sedan doing these laps because of the travel rate and apparent stability.  If you can manage this much physics and a set of Goodyear all season radials imagine what you can do in a real performance car.  After the Advanced Driver Tuning event you will never forget eye management, fingers and toes, and smooth inputs.  Practice makes perfect.

All performance oriented drivers live in a constant state of development. No matter what the application drivers are always striving to improve their skills, add to their toolbox, and go faster more consistently. This event will allow even the most seasoned performers to step back and calibrate their inputs, improve their eye management, and balance controls to assure optimum performance.

Advanced Driver Tuning is your way to visit the core skills mandatory for outstanding performance. While you may learn these things the hard way as many of us have, there is a shorter path. Even if the dust has not yet settled on your latest racing trophy you can benefit from understanding the elemental origins of your success. Your first day on the track may still be a recent memory and while you are actively unscrambling all of the information now is a great time to learn where many of the pieces fit.

Your day will begin with a short overview presentation of vehicle control followed immediately by on track exercises including skid pad and control training. Afterwords these skills will be applied to lapping sessions where you can explore the components of car control and personal technique. This opportunity is a far superior environment compared to experimenting while attempting to beat 30 of your closest friends into turn one.

Sign up today for Advanced Driver Tuning and enjoy a great day of driving, bench racing, and just plain getting better. We look forward to seeing you soon!
