Advanced Car Control Clinic - December 12

Crows Landing

About this event

We have set very conservative limits on the number of students accepted. The initial limit is set to 20. We hope to raise this to 30 or 40, but will do so only if we have enough instructors to keep the ratio sane. If the event is "sold out" when you register, please go ahead and sign up for the wait list. We will accommodate additional students in the order in which they register. Thanks for your understanding. (Update: We have accepted four from the waiting list already, and anticipate accepting more.)

Before registering, please read the entire Car Control Clinic Overview for important information and required forms for the day of the event. Please also see the FAQs. The ACCC Primer covers some of the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics that we will be applying. Please study this document.

The Advanced Car Control Clinic takes performance driving education to the next level. Prior experience in a CCC, HPDE or equivalent is required, as we expect to progress rapidly beyond the basics.

The exercises in this event are larger, faster and more challenging. Approved helmets are required for this event. A small number loaner helmets will be available.

All you need to attend is your car, a valid driver's license, and the registration fee. (You will also need a Minor Waiver if you are under 18)  Two-driver cars are allowed -- with each driver registering separately.

The December 12, 2015 Advanced Car Control Clinic will be held at Crows Landing, near Patterson, CA. Check-in for registered students opens at 8:00am. Lunch is included. We will have a selection of pizza for lunch. If gluten or dairy are not your preference, please bring a lunch. The event concludes at 5:30pm. The cost is $200 for BMW CCA members. The cost is $248 for non-members, which includes a one year membership in the BMW CCA.

The Advanced CCC is intended for drivers interested in improved street safety, or for drivers who want an extra level of preparation before attending a High Performance Driving School at a track.

Each participant receives personalized instruction provided by experienced club instructors.

If you have further questions please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Event requirements

Registration must be made in advance by filling out and submitting an on-line application. The roster will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Each driver must be registered separately in their own name, and must have their own Motorsportreg.com account. Only on-line credit card payment or electronic check will be accepted. You may not register at the event.

You must be a member of (or join) the BMW Car Club of America to participate. You do not have to own a BMW to join the BMW CCA or to participate in our driving events.

If you are already a member of the BMW CCA please include your Membership Number in your registration. If this information is not provided, your registration may be canceled. If you are not a BMW CCA member you may purchase your membership with your registration. (You do not have to own a BMW to join the BMW CCA).

If you live in a household with an active member, you may call the national office of the BMW CCA to become an associate member for $10. If you go that route, provide your associate membership number with your registration.

Unlike our other CCC events, helmets are required for the clinic. Your helmet must meet the club’s helmet standards and must be inspected at check-in. (Helmets must Snell rated. They must be SA, M, or K, and must be 2005 or 2010. E.g., SA2005, M2010, etc.) A small number of loaner helmets will be available at the event.

If you need this clinic as a prerequisite for a BMW CCA track school, keep in mind that you will not be automatically placed on the clinic roster. You must register and pay separately for this clinic. Please register early to make sure you get in.

Your car will have to pass a technical inspection at the event. The tech inspection form will be sent to registered studends ahead of time (as part of the Student Packet) to allow you to check your car ahead of time.

We do not allow SUVs at the clinic due to their high center of gravity. The BMW X models and Porsche Cayenne SAVs are the only exceptions to this policy, and are allowed at the CCC. We also discourage the use of the Toyota Prius at the CCC becuase the statibility control is very intrusive and interferes with the exercises. Convertibles are allowed at the clinic.  If there is a question about the appropriateness of your vehicle, please contact us at carcontrol@ggcbmwcca.org.

Before registering, please read the entire Car Control Clinic Overview for important information and required forms for the day of the event.  Please also see the FAQs.

If the event is full, please register for the wait list. We often have late cancellations, so we do make use of the wait list to fill empty seats. Secondly, if instructor registration reaches a certain threshold, we will accept more students into the clinic. We will contact you to make sure you are still interested before taking payment. In addition, by registering to the wait list, you will get an email notification when registration opens for the next event.
