ACNW Son of Quattrofest '17

The Ridge Motorsports Park

About this event

Audi Club Northwest (ACNW) presents the first lapping event of the year, Son of Quattrofest 2017, on Sunday, March 26th, at The Ridge Motorsports Park!

Audi Club Northwest has the honor of holding one of the first events of the year at this acclaimed track!  With cooler temperatures and a chance for a wet surface (it is March in the NW after all!), this event will be a great chance to get back behind the wheel and get your car control skills dialed in!

Unfortunately for those that haven’t completed a Driver Skills event previously, this event does NOT have a Driver Skills component.  Drivers must have attended at least one ACNW event or equivalent from another club or driver's school.  Good news though!  University of Quattro is happening on February 26th and would qualify you for Son of Quattrofest. Registration is now open!

Novice drivers who’ve attended previous events will have Instructors in their right seats to help them hone their skills on-track. For those who are signed off Solo but are interested in improving their skills, Instructors are also available upon request (please note when you register!).

In order to join us for this day of awesome, you need to be a member of Audi Club North America. If you’ve not yet joined the club, you can get in the club by clicking here!

All attendees must be at least 16 years of age (but ALL are welcome as spectators!)

During registration please indicate your driver skill level so we can make sure you end up in the right run-group (honesty is the best policy here!)

If you have any questions about registration, your qualifications or anything else, send a message to the event master, Cris Brickey at cris.brickey@gmail.com.

There are two recommended hotels for Son of Quattrofest:

FOR INSTRUCTORS:  Approximately 30 instructors will be needed for this event. These spots will first be filled by attendees from the Invite-Only ACNW Instructor Clinic being held on Saturday, March 25th.  To instruct at Son of Quattrofest you must be registered and participate in the Instructor Clinic on Saturday. If you can’t attend the Clinic you will need to register as a driver participant and we will pull as needed into an instructor role. The selection choices will come up for you during the registration process.

Event requirements

Everyone must sign the Release and Waiver for Audi Club Northwest’s insurance coverage when coming onto the facility.  This requirement includes drivers, instructors, teens, guests and visitors.  The full text of this Release and Waiver is on the next screens.  Please read it carefully.  Please contact the Event Master or Registrar prior to the event with any questions about these important documents.

Please indicate the signoff in your Log Book for driver skill level when that question appears in the registration process.  Instructors will be available for anyone who wants coaching, and for those who are not signed off to Intermediate (solo).

Convertibles and roadsters are not permitted to run high speed driver training or lapping events unless equipped with an approved aftermarket 4-point roll bar in the car and 4-point ASM(anti submarine), 5-point or 6-point harnesses. Equal restraints must be provided for both the passenger and the driver.  For example, harnesses with 4, 5, or 6 point mounts used by the driver, must also be provided for the front seat passenger.  The roll bar must pass the “broomstick rule” such that a broomstick from the top of the windshield to the top of the roll bar is over the head of the driver. The TT convertible, A4 Cabriolet and S4 Cabriolet will not qualify through tech inspection without an aftermarket roll bar.  The Audi Club North America policy is posted under Event Rules for your review <http://www.audiclubna.org/resources/driving-school-and-event-guideline>.

Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs, SAVs, CUVs), trucks and other high-roll-center vehicles may be permitted on a case by case basis. Email the event master Cris Brickey, Cris.Brickey@gmail.com.  If you have a questions about your vehicle, please ask us prior to the event.

Helmet Requirement for this event is for Snell 2005 or later. The SA (Special Application-Automotive), M (Motorcycle) and K (Karting) designators are approved. We have 28 club helmets in various sizes available for rent ($25) on a first come, first serve basis.  If you still need a helmet but they are all rented out at the time of your registration, please make a note in the registration comments that you need one.  We cannot guarantee that one will become available however.  You will not be allowed to participate without a helmet.

**ATTENTION: NEW TECH INSPECTION REQUIREMENT FOR 2017**

Beginning with the ACNW Instructor Clinic and Son of Quattrofest 2017, Audi Club Northwest (ACNW) will be implementing a new policy developed by Audi Club North America on vehicle safety inspections and our event tech process.

For every event, ACNW will require two (2) signatures on your Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form. View this newly updated form HERE.

  • The signature at the bottom is yours. This isn't changing. It is still your car and we need you to take responsibility for its safe condition and operation. (Pretty easy so far!)
  • The second signature above yours is new. It is ACNW’s expectation that your car will be inspected per the areas of emphasis on the Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form, by someone in addition to you.  This should be a dealer, a local shop, or any other person you believe has the technical knowledge and experience to properly inspect your car for safety. Ultimately it’s your responsibility to confirm that your car is safe to operate at the event.

On the morning of the event, you will take your car through the Tech Line process (see below) in order to be allowed on track.  However, completion of the Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form, including the Second Signature, should be completed PRIOR to getting in line for the club’s trackside process. For the first events this year, if you were not able to get a 2nd signature from a qualified shop or individual, we will have the capacity for a small number of vehicles to go through a more rigorous vehicle safety inspection at the event. This option is intended as a backup only and should not be counted on.

Vehicle Safety Inspection Process:

Prior to getting in line for Tech:

  • Visit registration to check in and get your registration packet (with event car numbers)
  • Ensure your vehicle meets all areas of the Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form, particularly removal of all lose items from the cabin and trunk
  • Apply event car numbers to car exterior (outside rear windows, if possible, on both sides)
  • Complete Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form with car number

During Tech Inspection:

  • Get in line with your vehicle at designated area
  • Stay in your vehicle and be prepared to participate in the process as directed by Tech Line staff
  • Provide your completed Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form (this includes 2 signatures) when requested
  • Upon successful completion of the process, you’ll be given your final event sticker that signifies your vehicle is cleared for entry on track. You will place this sticker in the center of your car's windshield, at the very top.
  • Return to your parking spot and be prepared for the mandatory Driver’s meeting

Please reach out to Pat Martin (mardkins@msn.com) with any questions on this new policy.
