About this event
The Fun Run make-up date is March 28th. Register here!!
Join us for the 2nd Annual Mid-Winter Fun Run from Benns Church, VA (just across the JRB) to the Virginia Diner in Wakefield, VA. After being postponed due to the snowstorm at the end of February, hopefully the weather cooperates this time around and your Porsche gets a chance to stretch its legs after a long winter in the garage.
We will meet at Benn's United Methodist Church (14571 Benns Church Blvd., Smithfield, VA 757-357-3373) at the corner where VA 10 & VA 32 meet US 258 at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 28th. The church will be open with rest rooms provided, and evidently Pastor Burton is a bit of a car guy himself.
After a short driver's meeting, we will head out for a scenic 90 minute drive on some twisty roads in Isle of Wight and Surry Counties. Ed Merry, First Settlers' unofficial "master of the twisty road," is already planning the route and he tells me that there will be no repeats from previous events. I see a lot of "VT" (very twisty) designations in the course notes!
The fun run will end at the Virginia Diner, 408 County Drive North, Wakefield, VA 23888, where we will have tables reserved for a group lunch.
There is no charge for this event; however, lunch at the Virginia Diner and provisions for the road will be pay as you go.
Hope to see you on the road!
