Event requirements
Please sign up for the run group that most closely matches your experience level. Each registration is verified by the Chief Instructor based on the driver's experience/resume information that is provided during the registration process on MotorsportReg. You will receive a vinyl decal for your car's windshield when you check in at Registration at the track that indicates which run group you are in.
Experience levels for run groups:
Super Advanced = Solo driving with documented advanced driver status. Passing anywhere with a point by. Chief Instructor review required.
Advanced = Solo driving with documented experience with several driving school and open track events. Coach may be available upon request. Passing anywhere the wheels are straight with a point by in the direction of the next turn. Chief Instructor review required.
Intermediate = Limited experience with multiple prior driving schools or open track events. Instructor required. Passing with a point by in the direction of the next turn only on specific straightaways. Chief Instructor review required.
Novice = For drivers starting out for the first few events until they have been approved to advance to the next run group. Passing with a point by in the direction of the next turn only on specific straightaways. Instructor required.
Car Sharing: Contact Mark Hunter at Mark@HuntersGarage.com or 803-493-8882 before registering if you plan to share a car between two drivers. The drivers must be qualified to participate in different run groups as determined by the Chief Instructor, Jay Schoolmeesters. Separate registrations including payment of separate registration fees are required for each driver. Again, students may not share a car in the same run group.
Soft top convertibles and open cockpit cars are not permitted unless they have a full cage and arm restraints. Cars with a retractable hardtop in the closed position and convertibles with a factory attachable hardtop in place are allowed in all run groups, if they have factory rollover protection. Please contact the Event Chairperson for confirmation of acceptance of your open cockpit or soft top convertible. Those that did not receive pre-approval could be turned away at tech inspection and not receive a refund. Those that registered and paid to ensure a spot that are not approved will receive a full refund if they request pre-approval within 7 days of registering. See additional information in the General Information document at CRMC PDS Event Details and Documents.
Instructors: Acceptance is contingent upon presentation of proper credentials and approval of the CRMC Chief Instructor, Jay Schoolmeesters.
Students age 16 & 17 must have a valid driver's license or learner permit from their state of residence, must have parental approval, and a parent must be present at the track. Driver's under 16 with a learner's permit may be accepted after review of their registration by the Chief Instructor.
Active duty military and law enforcement officers registering for the discounted rate must present current, valid ID card at registration.
Helmets must meet the Snell SA2015 or SA2020 standard. Make sure of the compliance of your helmet as of the date of the event. No helmet without a Snell SA2015 or SA2020 certification label will be allowed! Click here for an example of what this looks like.
Race or Time Trial drivers may bring their vehicle's annual technical inspection form or the vehicle log book issued by their sanctioning body (NASA, SCCA, PCA, etc) and their helmet to Tech for inspection during tech hours in lieu of bringing the car.
Car numbers are the responsibility of the driver. Painter’s tape will be provided at the registration desk in garage bay 24 if your car does not already have numbers on it. Car numbers will be unique to your car and will be assigned by the Chief Registrar based on the preferred car numbers in your vehicle profile in MSR. Ensure that you have entered your preferred numbers in your vehicle profile unless you want the Chief Registrar to assign the number for you. Car number availability is on a 1st come 1st served basis. If your number has already been registered, your 2nd or 3rd choices will be chosen.
If this is your very first time on track or you are a member of the Carolina Regional Mustang Club, please contact the Chief Registrar for a special discount!
