About this event
The Tombstone Trail is back for its 45th year!
Last year's digital format was fun, but there are still some continued challenges this event faces due to Covid. We were looking for a way to get back in person for those who miss gathering after the event. But the big limiting factor has been finding an end location that is able and willing to be staffed late enough for us: there are none. So, in the spirit of adaptability, we are going to try out running the event daylight into night. Start time will be 5ish, be flexible!
More information on rules and regulations will be available in the Generals prior to the event. It is strongly recommended that competitors have a smart phone and car charger, as paper maps will not be distributed in person at a set starting point. I have found the best method is to use a tablet (with a personal hot spot to download the materials, or using the Wi-Fi of a fast food restaurant parking lot).
Correction: There WILL be printed materials - sorry for confusion!
When registering, use this list To determine your classification:
Classes A, B & C are seeded based on experience, past performance, and number of people (max 4, with the exception of younger children) in the car.
Class G "anything goes" is still competitive, but is given the GPS coordinates of the cemeteries ahead of time.
Class 0 "no class" is just for fun, and is not eligible for trophies.
