COVID-19 Precautions: The situation and best practices evolve.  Therefore, we will be implementing restrictions based on the guidance and regulations in-place by National, State, and Local Governments at the time of the event.  Anticipate requirements for social distancing, plan on providing your own mask for the event, and plan on brining enough supplies to make it through the day (food and water).  We will be suspending our normal coolers of water for attendees to minimize transmission of the virus.  We have also suspended our loaner helmet program -- YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN HELMET.

Normally, we offer in-car instruction and loaner helmets; however, due to the COVID-19 situation both elements of our program have been suspended.  Again, our Loaner Helmet program as well as in-car instruction has been suspended for 2021 due to the COVID-19 situation and Guidance from BMW CCA National.

In light of the situation, are requiring all non-participants (guests and spectators) stay home.  We will restrict each vehicle to a single occupant (except if coming from a shared household).

(revised January 17, 2021)

In light of the situation, are requiring all non-participants (guests and spectators) stay home.  We will restrict each vehicle to a single occupant (except if coming from a shared household).  Further, we ask that you leave your pets at home due to the high-paced nature of the day's activities.  So whether you're a longtime BMW CCA veteran or never been to an autocross before, come check it all out online at our website:

---ALL ATTENDEES MUST BRING THEIR OWN HELMET --- NO LOANER HELMETS WILL BE AVAILABLE.  All helmets must be Snell certified SA2010, SA2015, SA 2020, M2010, M2015, or M2020.------

BE AWARE: Your automobile insurance may not cover you during competition in an autocross event.  If you wish to carry insurance for our events, Lockton Motorsports offers a Autocross Policy that covers you for 1 year (365 days) from the date of purchase.  If you are interested in learning more about these policies or purchasing, see the following link:

The NCC Autocross program uses a BMW-centric customized classing structure which pits your BMW or MINI against similar performance models in 3 levels of trim: Showroom, Tuner, and Modified. There is also a simple classing structure for non-BMW competitors.  You can check out the full details at

NEW!!!  Non-BMW Classing

For the 2021 season we have updated our Non-BMW classing.

There are five non-BMW classes, X1, X2, X3, X4 and X5. Class X5 is reserved for all non-BMWs with R-Compound tires (defined as having a treadwear rating less than 200). The remaining classes are based on vehicle displacement and modified according to the rules below.

X1 = 5.0 Liters and up and all electric vehicles (Non-BMW 1)

X2 = 3.7 - 4.9 Liters (Non-BMW 2)

X3 = 2.6 - 3.6 Liters (Non-BMW 3)

X4 = 2.5 Liters or less (Non-BMW 4)

X5 = R-Compound Tire Cars Only (no matter engine size) (Non-BMW 5)

After the base group is determined from the above table, move up one group as follows:

  • Increase one group if engine uses forced induction (either factory or aftermarket).
  • Increase one group if engine is rotary.

X5 is specifically reserved for cars with competition tires no matter what engine the car is equipped with.

  • A 2018 Mazda Miata (2.0) would be in X4.  However, a 2018 Fiat 124 Spyder (1.4) which is essentially the same car would be in X3 due to the turbocharger.
  • A 2010 Subaru WRX STI (2.5L) moves up from X4 to X3 because it has forced induction. Even factory forced induction, such as in this case, causes a car to move up 1 Group.
  • A 2010 Chevy Camaro V6 (3.6) would be in X3.  A V8 (6.2) would be in X1 no matter the trim (LT, LS, SS, ZL1, etc.).  The same car with R-Compound tires would complete in X5 no matter the engine size.
  • A 2008 Mazda RX-8 (1.3L) would be in X4, but is an X3 car because of its rotary engine. If the same RX-8 competes with R-Compound tires, it is in X5.
