2020 CSRG Rolling Thunder Spring Event - CANCELLED
Thunderhill Raceway ParkAbout this event
It is with regret that, due to the COVID-19 virus, the CSRG Spring at Thunderhill Races is cancelled.
We are also considering a later, mid-week race at Thunderhill. Currently there are no open weekends in June or July, but the situation is constantly changing with race groups like the SCCA & LeMons cancelling their events as well. As with the David Love, we will let you know what is available with as much advance notice as possible. If we get enough people who want to run, we will do it.
Certainly there are a lot of factors that went into our decision, all of which you are very aware. The fact is it comes down to one element: safety. We realize that there is a lot of pent up desire to get out there, but we have to temper that enthusiasm with the presence of a danger to us outside of the on -track environment. Hopefully, over the coming weeks & months, the situation will improve, particularly in the areas of 1) virus testing, 2) improved treatment for the afflicted & 3) a reduced rate of infection despite recently relaxed protocols in some areas/states. Maybe all three areas will be successful, but the question is when? We are certainly not there yet, but fingers crossed for the future. We need to give it time to play out—hopefully in a good direction.
Those of you who have entered to date will receive 100% refunds. As usual, the point person is Petey Thornton at: Registrar@csrgweb.org
I would like to point out that Thunderhill Raceway has bent over backwards to work with CSRG. This is no hollow, happy-face statement. We genuinely appreciate Thunderhill's efforts & we are thankful to have them working alongside us.
All of us have had to deal with hardships & this is another one. Please know that we are doing everything to get you back on track as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Thank you
