Last year's inaugural club picnic played to rave reviews and lots of "can we do it again next year" comments. So we are! Please join the Board of Directors of the North Atlantic Audi Club on Saturday, September 14 at noon for our second annual cookout and social, at board member Buddy Gregory's home/farm in Francestown, NH. Let’s celebrate long-time members, prospective members, new members and the Club that brings us all together.
The Club will provide munchies, traditional cookout-type grill food, desserts and non-alcoholic soft drinks. Beer or wine is BYOB; and if you're so inclined, please bring your special side dish such as a salad or fruit bowl, a veggie tray with dip or a dessert to contribute to the feast. A couple of folding lawn chairs or a picnic blanket may be handy, as well as sun block if the weather cooperates. Buddy has a spacious barn with a bathroom if we need shelter or the facilities. The event is on rain or shine.
We will have some lawn games and other activities to participate in such as a brake-overhaul tech demonstration, and a trailer maneuvering competition – backwards. Last year folks really enjoyed the rope climbing inside the barn which will be available again, and Charlie is organizing a low-key exterior-only "people's choice" concours. So get your vehicle clean, shiny and detailed - or maybe not. We hope to have some prizes to give out as well.
For those interested in some beautiful scenery, there will be a one hour "fun run" tour to Buddy's starting from Euro Motorsport in Merrimack, NH. Euro Motorsport is associated with the highly regarded HM Motor Works and caters to the auto enthusiast. It almost has the feel of a car club with a lounge inside the shop where there are always interesting cars to view. The fun run will gather beginning at 10:00 AM and will depart at 11:00. Euro Motorsport is located at 26 Columbia Circle, Merrimack, NH, behind HM Motor Works, Exit 11 off of Route 3. Drive around the back of the building. Refreshments will be provided.
Buddy's house is at 257 Bible Hill Extension, Francestown, NH, about 20 miles west of Manchester. From route 136 in the center of Francestown, take Poor Farm Road north. In approximately one mile turn right on Bible Hill Rd. At the “T”, turn left onto Bible Hill Extension (called “Bible Hill Exd” on Google Maps) then make the next left into Buddy's driveway; there will be signage at the entrance. If you're using Google Maps or GPS, make sure it's using Bible Hill Extension, not Bible Hill Road; it may try to auto-correct (see map below.)
Cost is $15.00 per person for current ACNA members and $20 for non-members, except that if you joined within the last year it's $5.00. Registration will close at midnight September 11 in order to have an attendee count for food and beverages.
This is a great opportunity for long-time, new and past members to welcome newcomers, schmooze and perhaps renew interest in the club. Hope to see you there!
