2019 Atlanta Region SCCA Autocross Points 9

Atlanta Motor Speedway

About this event

One of our frequent drivers, Sara Edge, was recently lost in an unfortunate car accident.  In her memory, Atlanta SCCA Autocross will be making a donation from the fees collected for Points 9 to the charity her family has identified.  Please join us in remembering Sara on this day.

We do "split days" in Atlanta.  Classes will be placed into morning or afternoon sessions. Attempts will be made to keep the same classes running together throughout the season.  However, classes may shift between heats as necessary to ensure proper worker coverage.

If you are participating in autocross for the first time or have very little experience, run in the Novice class.  Our novice class is limited to 20 participants per event.  Novice class will always run in the afternoon in order to allow the novices time to get ride-alongs with morning-session drivers. Be sure to attend Novice Orientation.

The Rookie Class is a new program for newer drivers (typically with less than a year of experience) looking to compete with other drivers in an indexed class, but without jumping into the deep end of Pro.

MORNING SESSION

HEAT A: Street, Street Modified, Solo Spec Coupe

  HEAT K: Junior Karts

HEAT B: Pro, Prepared, Modified, Kart Modified, Time Only

AFTERNOON SESSION

HEAT A: Rookie, Classic American Muscle, Heritage, Novice Group 1, Time Only

HEAT B: Street Touring, Street Prepared, Novice Group 2

Worker changes will be performed on the fly, to minimize downtime. Workers during Heats A and K wear Orange vests; Workers during Heat B wear Yellow vests. Participants are expected to keep track of the pacing of the day and listen to announcements so that worker changes can be accomplished with minimal interruption to the event.
