2019 Atlanta Region April Novice School - Saturday, April 13th
Fees are $70 for SCCA members and $85 for non-members. Fees are for each driver not per car. Our novice school is for participants with less than a year's worth of experience. You will get loads of seat time and instruction from the best drivers in our region.
This event is capped at 40 participants and payments will be collected immediately.
All cars must pass tech inspection. Prepare to be on-site for most of the day: Bring food, water, and appropriate clothes / shoes for all types of weather. Our event will happen rain or shine, so be prepared! No refunds or credits will be given should there be inclement weather.
This event will be running in parallel with our Top Cop Challenge. Schedule will be as follows:
7:30 a.m. Gates Open. Be sure to stop at the Waiver Station to get your wrist band! Check-In Opens. Morning Tech opens.
8:00 a.m. Course Open for walking.
8:15 a.m. Tech Closes
8:30 a.m. Drivers meeting, group assignments, and assignment of Instructors.
9:00 a.m. Novice Group 1-A and Law Enforcement officers will drive the course. Novice Group 1-B will work course. Novice Group 2 will work on specific exercises.
9:45 a.m. Novice Group 1-B and Law Enforcement officers will drive the course. Novice Group 1-A will work course. Novice Group 2 will continue to work on specific exercises.
10:30 a.m. Novice Group 2-A and Law Enforcement officers will drive the course. Novice Group 2-B will work course. Novice Group 1 will work on specific exercises.
11:15 a.m. Novice Group 2-B and Law Enforcement officers will drive the course. Novice Group 2-A will work course. Novice Group 1 will continue to work on specific exercises.
12:00 p.m. Top Cop Challenge. Law Enforcement officers drive the course. Team Solo and Instructors will work the course as needed.
12:30 p.m. Lunch Break.
1:30 p.m. Novice Group 1 will drive the course. Novice Group 2 will work course.
2:30 p.m. Novice Group 2 will drive the course. Novice Group 1 will work course.
3:30 p.m. Event Wrap-Up
Worker changes will be performed on the fly, to minimize downtime. Participants are expected to keep track of the pacing of the day and listen to announcements so that worker changes can be accomplished with minimal interruption to the event.
