Please join NAAC for a cookout and social to welcome new NAAC members, September 22 starting at noon at board member Buddy Gregory's home in Francestown, NH. Long-time members, prospective members, past members and especially new members are all welcome. The club will provide customary cookout-type grill food, non-alcoholic drinks, munchies, condiments and dessert goodies. Beer or wine is BYOB; if you're so inclined, please bring a salad or fruit side dish, veggie tray or a dessert. A couple of folding lawn chairs or a picnic blanket could be handy, as could sun block (hey, we can hope...) Buddy has a large barn, so the event is on rain or shine.
There will be the opportunity for lawn games, and we're planning an optional any-make-or-model interior-only concourse event with some, ah, interesting twists. Here's a couple of hints: you'll probably do better if your car interior is reasonably clean, and the judges have some definite ideas about what should be found in the glove compartment.
For those interested, there will be a one hour “fun run” tour to Buddy's starting from Bedford, NH. The fun run will gather at 10:30 AM and leave at 11:00 from the parking lot behind the Starbucks/Chipotle Mexican Grill, 99 River Rd #1, Bedford, NH. It's just east of Route 3, across from the intersection of Route 3 and Kilton Rd.
Buddy's house is at 257 Bible Hill Extension, Francestown, NH, about 20 miles west of Manchester. From route 136 in the center of Francestown, take Poor Farm Road north. In approximately one mile turn right on Bible Hill Rd. At the “T”, turn left onto Bible Hill Extension (called “Bible Hill Exd” on Google Maps) then make the next left into Buddy's driveway; there will be signage at the entrance. If you're using Google Maps or GPS, make sure it's using Bible Hill Extension, not Bible Hill Road; it may try to auto-correct (see map below.)
Cost is $15.00 per person for both current NAAC members and non-members, except that if you joined within the last year it's $5.00. Registration will close at midnight September 19 in order to have an attendee count for food and beverages.
This is a great opportunity for long-time, new and past members to welcome newcomers, schmooze and perhaps renew interest in the club. Hope to see you there!
