Join the North Star Chapter BMW CCA the weekend of June 2nd - 4th for the Summer Performance Driving School on the short, competition course at Brainerd International Raceway!
Important Notice: Helmet requirements have been updated this year, required helmets are now Snell SA or M rated years 2010 or 2015. We are no longer able to use Snell rated helmets dated prior to 2010.
The High Performance Driving School will run Saturday and Sunday, June 3rd and June 4th. This event is open to all drivers with an active BMW CCA membership, of all experience levels (though attendance of our spring Car Control Clinic is highly recommended) and all makes of hardtop cars. Please see event requirements for exclusions of convertibles, SUV and other high center of gravity vehicles. Cost for this school is $350.
Friday, June 2nd, is a full day of track time open to all instructors and pre-approved, advanced drivers with a verifiable driving history. Cost of the Friday event is $175, or at a combo rate of $475 for advanced students. Please contact drivingschools@northstarbmw.org if you have not driven with us on our advanced/instructor days or with any questions on qualification. This Friday is also a great opportunity for newer drivers or those new to Brainerd Int'l Raceway registered for the weekend event to come out, watch from various vantage points within the circuit and ride along with instructors (helmet required)!
Tech Inspection
A tech inspection is required on any vehicle that will be driving on track at this event, with the North Star tech inspection form completely filled out and presented at the track for registration. Our sponsor providing track side support is offering a free tech inspection for all registered attendees at the following date and time, or a tech inspection at a shop of your choosing using the North Star BMW tech inspection form below.

Hotel and Registration
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Comfort Suites Rapid River Lodge in Brainerd, MN for a rate of $129.00 a night, mention "BMW Club" when registering. Contact the hotel via phone at (218) 825-7234 to book at the club rates.
Registration Details
Advanced registration will be held at Comfort Suites in the meeting room on the first floor from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Insure that the following items are on hand for registration!
- Driver's License
- Helmet
- Completed tech inspection form
Saturday Night Dinner Information:
We will continue the long standing tradition of hosting dinner at Prairie Bay Grill Saturday evening, June 3rd at 7:00 PM. Dinner can be purchased for $36 per person during registration and guests are welcomed.
Cancellation Policy
If your plans should change, you may designate a substitute to attend in your place at any time or you may transfer to another session or a different event PRIOR TO 3 business days of the event for which you have enrolled. In the event you need to cancel your registration, you may do so for a full refund if you inform us of your cancellation at least 30 business days before the start of the event. A $30.00 fee for Performance Driving Schools and $15 for Car Control Clinics will be charged for cancellation within 30 to 14 business days from the start date of the event. NO reimbursement will be made within 14 business days or if you fail to attend your scheduled session. Non-paid, no-shows registered by phone, mail, fax, or online via check will be billed.

Event requirements
Helmet - Snell SA or M 2010 or 2015 required - these are the only years that we accept. We also recommend neck braces and face shields.
Tech Inspection - You are responsible for having your car inspected at an approved shop, our sponsors will be scheduling an evening of complimentary inspections for all makes and models.
BMW CCA membership is required to attend our Car Control Clinics and Performance Driving Schools. It is a simple process and you DO NOT NEED TO OWN A BMW: either call (864) 250-0022 or visit bmwcca.org (https://myaccount.bmwcca.org/PortalTools/NewUser/EmailCheck.cfm) to get your membership. A 1-year membership is $48.
SUVs, vans, convertibles, targa, and t-tops are NOT allowed at Performance Driving School events.
NOTE: The following specific SAV (Sports Activity Vehicles) are allowed at Performance Driving School events: BMW X3, X5, and X6, as well as the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. If you have any doubt if your vehicle qualifies, please contact us at: drivingschools@northstarbmw.org.
