competition licensing school

Entry fee = $625

Event Schedule

Upon successful completion of the school, students receive a validated SCCA Novice Permit allowing them to enter SCCA Regional Road Racing events.

School includes: three days of instruction during the driving weekend and one seperate ground school prior to the driving weekend.

The school consists of rules-of-the-road education, on-track training with instruction by nationally licensed drivers, and practice starts and races.

REQUIREMENTS

SCCA Membership is required - you can join online at any time on the National SCCA web page: www.scca.org  [look for Join Now button at top of each page]

You will need to provide your own gear (helmet, suit, gloves, etc) and car.

Ground School participation will be required before the School weekend. You only need to attend ONE of the two Ground Schools. 

February 8, Saturday

San Bruno

Tech 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Ground School - 1 to 4 pm

Skyline Community College, 3300 Collage Drive, San Bruno. To be held in Automotive Shop (follow signs to State Smog Referee). Park in Lot G

Tech - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Ground School - 1 to 4 pm

Cosumnes River College in Sacramento

Automotive Shop, AT101 at Cosumnes River College, 8401 Center Parkway, in Sacramento Ca. 95823. It is best to use the Bruceville entrance into the College and park in lot F.

 

If you cannot get to the Ground School, we can send you a DVD that covers some of the information you will miss. Check the Ground School DVD option when you register.

Novice Permit and Physical Exam -  You will need to obtain your Novice Permit and turn in a Physical Exam form to the National Office. It can take several weeks to receive your Novice Permit after you send the forms to SCCA National. DO NOT leave this until the last minute!

If you already have a Novice Permit or Competition License, you may enter the school to receive additional instruction and experience.

Event requirements

You should already have an SCCA Membership before you complete the entry process. If you do not, you can join at www.scca.com - click the Join Now button. Write down your membership number so you can include it on the entry information.

You should already be working on obtaining your Novice Permit from SCCA National. The process to get a Novice Permit is described on the announcement page for the school. You cannot attend the school without a Novice Permit, even if you complete this entry process.


If you do not already have a MotorsportReg account, please follow the steps below to create your account this first time. Next time you enter, just log into your account and future entries for SFR events will be quick and painless!

  1. If you do not already have one, create an account on MotorsportReg.com after reading these steps.
  2. Once logged in, click "My Account" in the top right
  3. Review your vehicle(s), making sure to enter your permanent/preferred numbers and your transponder number
  4. Now come back to this page and enter the event and pay online.


You will receive an email confirmation/receipt of your entry.  If you have any questions about the event, you can call the SCCA office at 530-934-4455 or email at office@sfrscca.org.

Transponder numbers are required for ALL CARS.  If you do not have a transponder listed in your vehicle profile, you MUST rent one.

Car numbers must be two digits.

Sound limit of 103 db will be enforced for all sessions.

All drivers must still go through on-site registration at the track!

ON THE NEXT PAGE:  You must add or select your vehicle and that vehicle MUST have a transponder number.
