Test & Tune #1 CANCELLED

 Event #1 POSTPONED TO LATER IN THE SEASON

As you know, the Solo Advisory Committee is responsible for a lot of things. One of those things is insuring that all elements are safe for an event. While we always run “rain or shine”…. Temperatures can alter that rule as we can’t risk ice or even the slightest slick surface. Additionally, course workers stand out in the open, in the wind, for over an hour at a time. When the temperature is below freezing and the wind chill is even lower, we cannot, in good conscience, put them at risk to appease others that have no qualms about driving in and working in below freezing conditions.

That being said, we will be cancelling the Test and Tune. Event 1 will be rescheduled to a much later date in the season. When winter has finally left. For good. Looking at forecasts for this weekend, we won’t even get out of the freezing area until well after 10am. And even then, the wind chill would still be below freezing. To avoid injury, vehicle/tire damage and any other possible scenario that comes with unsafe conditions, we must stand by our decision.

I understand some of you will be inconvenienced and angry that we’ve made this decision again. Please see the first paragraph. We apologize but we have to put your safety first.

We hope to see everyone in Topeka next weekend for MiDiv and KCR events 2 and 3! Friday night you can roll in and camp through the weekend for FREE! Then we’ll all have our “home opener” May 6th at MCC for Event 4, (and don’t forget our Novice school that Saturday May 5th.)

Thank you all for being such a great group of racers and understanding when we have to make the hard decisions. (and trust me, this one was BRUTAL!)
