Event Requirements

Registration closed December 11, 2016 6:00 AM at 2016-12-11T06:00:00-0800 Registration ends December 11, 2016 6:00 AM at 2016-12-11T06:00:00-0800 Registration opens October 23, 2016 12:00 AM at 2016-10-23T00:00:00-0700 Registration runs from October 23, 2016 12:00 AM to December 11, 2016 6:00 AM

 

  • All Drivers and Passengers must be 18+
  • SA2010 or greater helmet highly recommended but not required
  • Tow hooks or tow points are required on the front and rear of car.  If your car has a mechanical malfunction and must be towed, OnGrid will be forced to find a way to tow your car off the track. OnGrid and Thunderhill are not liable for any damages sustained while your car is being towed.  Please make sure you have tow hooks, straps or points that you can easily point out to the tow truck driver.  If you need a tow without a hook, strap or tow point, OnGrid will charge you $100.  Please make sure you have this prior to entering the track.
  • Inside the car you should insure there are no loose objects that may fly around.
  • Vehicles may not enter the track if they are leaking any fluids.
  • Numbers are required on both sides of the car and must be 8 inches tall and 4 inches wide or bigger. 
  • Convertibles are required to have roll over protection.  A vehicle with factory pop-up roll over protection is allowed to enter the track surface.   Drivers and passengers with convertibles must pass the broom stick test.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us: ongridtrack@gmail.com

    How To Preform Broomstick Test:

  • Put helmet on and get in the car
  • Place one end of the broom/stick on the top of the windshield and the other end on top of the roll hoop/bar, behind your head
  • The broom/stick must not touch your helmet nor your head, in order to pass the test and to be allowed on track

 

 

GROUP 1

  • Intended for drivers with a little to no track experience
  • This group allows drivers to focuses on furthering their comfort on track and taking the correct racing lines without being pressured.
  • Point By Passing is Mandatory and only allowed on the straights.
  • Instruction Available For This Run Group


GROUP 2a

  • 2a is a Low Intermediate group intended for drivers with a minimum track experience (usually a few track days)
  • This group is similar to Group 1 but for drivers with more experience and awareness.
  • Point By passing on straights and corners allowed. No Open Passing Allowed.
  • Instruction Available For This Run Group


Group 2b

  • 2b is a High Intermediate group Intended for drivers with a greater amount of track experience. (usually 7+).
  • Group 2b is a step above 2a with the same concepts however made for drivers with a greater knowledge of the racing line, proceedures and equite, and drivers who have more experience.
  • Open Passing Allowed on straights, Point By Passing Required in Corners.
  • Instruction Available For This Run Group


GROUP 3

  • This group will have a low car count and is great for drivers looking for fast laps.
  • This group is made for advance drivers that run slower lap times. Group 3 and 4 have the same rules but 3 has slower cars.
  • 2:14 or faster laps at thunderhill east for this group and generally 11+ track days.
  • Open Passing is Allowed Everywhere.


GROUP 4

  • This group will have a low car count and is great for drivers looking for fast laps.
  • This is our fastest run group and is made for the fastest cars/drivers at our events.
  • This run group has the same rules as group 3 but the lap times are faster in this group.
  • 2:08 or faster laps at thunderhill east for this group.
  • Open Passing is Allowed Everywhere.

OnGrid reserves the right to place you in a different run group then what you registered for if we do not feel you do not belong in the registered group.  Please follow the specific guidelines and sign up for the appropriate group.  Thank You.
