Event Requirements

SUVs, vans, convertibles, targas, and t-tops are NOT allowed at Performance Driving School events.
NOTE: The following specific SAV (Sports Activity Vehicles) are allowed at Performance Driving School events: BMW X3, X5, and X6, as well as the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. If you have any doubt if your vehicle qualifies, please contact us at: drivingschools@northstarbmw.org.
- Helmet - Snell 2005 or 2010 required - these are the only years that we accept. We also recommend neck braces and face shields.
- Motorcycle or Auto Racing standards are accepted – M or SA helmets with the years listed above. Motorcycle shops are good places to buy.
- Tech Inspection - You are responsible for getting your car inspected at a pre-approved garage.
We require membership to attend our Car Control Clinics and Performance Schools. It is a simple process and you DO NOT NEED TO OWN A BMW: either call (864) 250-0022 or visit bmwcca.org (https://myaccount.bmwcca.org/PortalTools/NewUser/EmailCheck.cfm) to get your membership. A 1-year membership is $48.
