Supps

  1. GENERAL
    1. This event is sanctioned by St. Louis Region of the Sports Car Club of America. This event will be held under the 2016 General Competition Rules (GCR) and the 2016 Time Trials Rules except as modified by these Supplementary Regulations. Regional races will be conducted under the MID-AM and STARS rules and will count towards the Championship.  The course is a 1.65 road/oval course and the oval is a 1.25 mile course.  The event is held in cooperation with Southern Illinois Region.
    2. Contact Hospitality to locate the Chief Steward(s). Driver’s information, trophies, services, etc. are coordinated through Hospitality in the Meeting Room.
    3. The track is open to vehicular traffic only during hours of competition, and then only as stipulated by the schedule. During all other hours the track is closed to traffic except as necessary for official use.
  2. ENTRIES AND REGISTRATION
    1. Any car that never enters the course at any point during the weekend may request a refund.  Refund requests must be submitted to the registrar no later than 6:00 pm, Monday, October 24, 2016.  THERE WILL BE NO PARTIAL REFUNDSRefunds of online credit card payments will incur a 5% processing fee. 
    2. Registration is available on Motorsportreg.com. Paper entries may be sent to Sheila Burkett, 610 Tuxedo Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63119;  faxed to 1-866-831-8619; emailed to registrar@stlscca.org. All checks are payable to STL SCCA.
    3. Entry FEES: 
      1. THREE Regional Races: $415
      2. Sunday OVAL Race: $200
      3. Regional Racing – Saturday only - $375
      4. Regional Racing, including Oval – Sunday only - $375
      5. One Car in an additional class / same driver: additional $250
      6. Drivers sharing car for THREE Regional Races in same class - $475
      7. SRF/SRF3/ FE Compliance Fee: $20
      8. Garage space: $50 / day or $100 for weekend
      9. Admission is FREE for spectators.
    4. All credentials must be verified, waivers signed and packets picked up before registration closes.
    5. MiDiv Permanent numbers will be held for entrants until Friday, October 7, 2016, then numbers go to paid entrants based on entry date paid. If more than one MiDiv Permanent number holder enters in the same group with the same number, the number goes to the person entered first.
    6. All drivers, crew, and additional paddock personnel must sign in at Registration for entry into hot area. For crew members who are arriving after Registration closes, arrangements can be made to obtain hot passes, Driver or Entrant should see Chief Registrar during normal hours.
  3. RESULTS
    1. Copies of grid sheets, and race results are available at Hospitality.
    2. Trophies will be available only at the track while Hospitality is open.
    3. Hospitality will close 30-minutes after the posting of the final results for the final unprotested race of the event.
  4. SAFETY, TECH & IMPOUND
    1. All Club Racing competition vehicles must have an SCCA Logbook with a current annual tech stamp.  Club Racing competitors needing a new logbook or annual tech inspection must make arrangements in advance with Chief Scrutineer Rachel Jennerjohn – Chief Scrutineer Raycergurl87@gmail.com - 314-225-5721.
    2. All competition vehicle tech stickers and each driver’s helmet sticker will be checked on the grid; remember, no vehicle will be allowed to enter the track without both current stickers in place.
    3. Any car that hits a solid object or overturns will not be permitted on track again until it has been inspected and approved by a Scrutineer.
    4. Scales will be open as soon as possible after Tech opens until start of racing each day. Tech is located at the north end of the garages.
    5. The top three finishers in each class shall report to impound at the conclusion of any race, or if instructed by Officials when exiting the course through an “Impound” or “Impound All” sign. Impound is the driver’s responsibility. Impound is located next to Tech.
    6. PDX drivers must have a valid annual helmet sticker and will follow the self-tech process. Tech sheet available at stlpdx.org.
    7. DRIVERS & CREW
      1. Grids for RACES 1 & 3 will be determined by fastest lap time recorded in any of the previous Qualifying or Race Sessions. Race 4 (OVAL) grid is determined by fastest lap Oval Qualifying time.
      2. No competitor may bump-start from a tow, without prior consultation and permission from, the tow driver. 
      3. The driver must have all safety equipment and gear in place anytime they are on the track. If being flat towed, driver shall be belted and wear at least helmet and gloves.
      4. Black Flag/Mechanical Black Flag - As per GCR sections 6.1.1F, 6.1.1.G & 6.7.1.A Turn Station 7 may also display black flag or mechanical black information in addition to Start/Finish.
      5. The clock will continue to run for timed sessions during all flag conditions with the exception of the red flag.
      6. During road course racing, any competitor who goes off course at turn 1 onto the oval must re-enter turn 1 from the oval at the same location.
      7. Races shall officially start and finish at the Timing line just upstream of the Starters stand. The timing line will be marked with orange cones on the pit wall. The grid must be cleared of all crew personnel at the one-minute warning.
      8. For the first lap of the first session for each group each day, a white flag will be displayed at each corner station.
      9. PIT EXIT ON TO TRACK—when leaving the pit lane, stay left of the blend line. Do not cross the line—either from the pits or trackside. Do not hit the cones that separate the pit entrance and pit exit from the racing surface. 
      10. There may be a split start for any of the groups at the discretion of the Chief Steward(s) EXCEPT for Race 2. Any group requesting a split start must do so within 30 minutes of the posting of qualifying times
      11. Hardship laps will be granted only at the discretion of the Chief Steward(s).
      12. Radio frequencies 464.5500, 464.5000, 467.9125, 462.1125 are reserved for SCCA and GMP official use.  These frequencies may be monitored but shall not be used for communication by any participant.
      13. Working AMB compatible transponders are required for all competition sessions at all Midwest Division Club Racing events.  If you have a transponder problem, you will be required to report to impound immediately after your session.  If your transponder fails to operate properly, your times for that session may not be available from timing and scoring.  Drivers may be notified of a transponder problem by a “T” sign from the starter.
      14. During road course racing, yellow and green lights on the oval control racing from the exit of turn 7 to the start/finish.
      15. The false grid is a “hot” area.  SCCA credentials must be prominently displayed for entry into the false grid or hot pits.
      16. No refueling in the pits.
      17. Victory laps may be allowed at the discretion of the Chief Steward.
      18. A charity drive-around may occur during the lunch hour at the Chief Steward’s discretion.
      19. Bump Drafting: All on track body contact (including contact during drafting) that causes a car to act erratically and results in a change in position or a car leaving the course will be investigated. Offenders may be penalized either during or after the session.
  5. Optional Regional Classes
    1. Any Optional Regional Class definitions compliant with GCR 9.1.C and currently approved to run in SCCA Sanctioned events will be accommodated in St. Louis Region Events under the following conditions:
      1. The Chief Steward of the event or the Midwest Divisional Executive Steward will assign the class to a run group and the schedule will be amended without further action from the SOMs for all registrations received at least 24 hours or more before the start of the event.
      2. Entrants wishing to race but failing to register as per a) above, or an entrant requesting reassignment of run group at the event may use normal RFA procedures in conjunction with the Chief Steward to do so.
      3. The entrant MUST provide the Registrar a copy (paper or electronic) of the current class rules/specifications prior to receiving a Tech Sticker for the event.
      4. The entrant by submitting their entry attests that the class they are registering in is currently approved by the SCCA National office.  If the Optional Regional Class is not currently authorized the car will be reclassified in another approved class but no guarantee of competitiveness is assured.
    2. Optional Regional Classes are eligible to compete in the St. Louis Region STARS Championship Series
  6. PITS & PADDOCK
    1. Gateway Motorsports Park reserves the right to require their waiver be signed at entry into paddock.
    2. All minors must be under direct parental or acting guardian supervision at all times.
    3. Only licensed drivers 16 and above may operate race support vehicles or golf carts.
    4. Proper credentials and shoes covering the entire foot are required for all Hot Areas. No smoking in the pits.
    5. ALL TRASH must be placed in receptacles provided. Environmentally hazardous waste must be disposed of in appropriate receptacles. All used tires must be removed or the organization will be charged for their disposal. Any spill must be reported to GMP staff for immediate clean-up.
    6. The Paddock Marshall may, at their discretion require competitors to limit the square footage of their paddock space.
  7. FACILITY RULES
    1. Buildings at Gateway Motorsports Park are non-smoking facilities.
    2. Fire lanes must be kept clear.
    3. Availability of water, air and gas will be at the option of the track operator.  All tires must be removed from the premises by the competitors.  All fluids must be put in the appropriate receptacles in the Safety Kleen Room, on the paddock side of the garages just south of the open garage area.
    4. The standard paddock space for each registered race vehicle is 800 square feet (e.g. 20 ft X 40 ft or 10 ft X 80 ft.) 
    5. Reservations are only taken for garage spaces.  Parking east of the GMP garage is reserved for those renting garages. Garage spaces may be reserved by contacting registrar@stlscca.org OR when you register on Motorsportsreg.com. 
    6. Electrical hook up is only available to garage renters within the confines of the garages for use with small tools and small electrical appliances.  No motor home or trailer hook-up.  No tent camping is allowed on the ground anywhere on the property of GMP.  No parking on the grass.
    7. Crew and guests are asked to park outside the paddock area to conserve paved space for racers.
    8. Do not drive stakes into the asphalt.
    9. Maximum speed limit in the paddock is ten (10) mph at all times.
    10. St. Louis Region, Southern Illinois Region and Gateway Motorsports Park will not be responsible for property brought to the event.  Please be sure to secure your belongings.
  8. SPECIAL
    1. There WILL NOT be a test day on Friday.
    2. Use of drones is prohibited.
    3. The Chief Steward will make all efforts to start sessions according to published times, except in the case of extreme situations that might occur.
    4. Gateway DASH format will be a 21 lap, inverted field, standing start pursuit, with faster qualifiers held back to achieve theoretical parity of overall finishing time. Qualifying time will be based on the fastest race lap from Race 1. ANY PROTESTS REGARDING GRID POSITION OR ASSIGNED DELAY MUST BE FILED WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF THE POSTING OF THE GRID SHEET IN HOSPITALITY
    5. Oval Racing will be held under the rules set forth in GCR Appendix E.  Sessions designated as "qualifying races" will follow the yellow flag rules for races, specified in 5.5.B.  This is NOT a MidAm Points Race. Competitors should review this appendix carefully as oval racing flags and procedures are significantly different from road course rules.
