Tech pre-Inspection

Please note:  While this is an Audi club event, any car that meets the requirements is welcome at any NEQ event.  Convertibles are not accepted unless they are fitted with 4 (or more) point SCCA or equivalent approved roll bars that meet the ‘’broomstick’’ rule. Approved roll bars must offer equal protection for both driver and passenger. Factory pop-up hoops available on some cars (Audi, Porsche) are not allowed.

All cars must be fitted with minimum three point lap/shoulder belts for both driver and passenger.  Any aftermarket upgraded belts must be equal for both driver and passenger.

Le Circuit Mont Tremblant does have a noise restriction of 92 dB, and is measured at several locations around the track.  This restriction is more liberal than other tracks we use and should not pose a problem for any but the loudest cars.  If you  are at all concerned about the loudness of your car, please contact the Eventmaster, Wendy Bellavance at alanwendymtbevent@yahoo.com.

Well in advance of any on-track driving event, you'll need to get your car pre-inspected by a competent mechanic, who will have to complete and sign a copy of the Safety Inspection Checklist form (first page only) which you bring with you to registration. Please get your car inspected at least two weeks before the event to avoid disappointment if the inspection uncovers repairs that must be completed before the car will pass.

For those in the area, The Northeast Chapter of the Audi Club of North America recognizes several Audi-VW tuners and service centers. They are NEQ supporters with years of experience and scores of satisfied customers. As a benefit for NEQ members they will provide free tech pre-inspection for applicants of our schools. Bring your Safety Inspection Checklist form. After inspection they will sign your form to be sure you are eligible for our event. Naturally there will be a charge for any parts or labor that are additionally required to prepare your vehicle. Two of these sites are APR distributors. They are all participants of our events with extensive experience in regard to car preparation and advice for upgrades. You will also be happy with the services of any Audi dealership but may utilize another dealership or full-time automotive repair shop at whatever rate you agree to.  Be sure to call for appointments well in advance of an event.

For futher information on this event and all NEQ events and requirements, please visit our website at www.NEQClub.org.  This web site has much useful information, especially under the "Events" and "Web Articles" sections.

Waivers

All participants must read and sign a Club Waiver before participating in the school. Upon entering the track premises each day, all participants must sign the track’s insurance release and liability waiver.

Additional requirements for participation

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, hold a valid driver’s license and be a member of ACNA or the BMW Club of Québec. Becoming a member is a simple and inexpensive process.

Participants must wear long pants (cotton or denim) and a long sleeved shirt is recommended. Comfortable, tight fitting lace-up shoes are required. Athletic shoes work well.

Helmet requirements have been updated.  A helmet with a SNELL SA10 or SA05 rating are the only helmets that may be used.  No more M (motorcycle) helmets will be allowed. For those participants who do not have a helmet, the Club has a limited number of helmets for rental on a first come, first served basis. In case of need, the helmets may be shared by two participants.

Sanctions

This event is a High Performance Safe Driving School, not a racing school. Safety throughout the entire event is the number one priority. All participants will be required to follow the Club and Track Rules at all times during the event.  Instructors, corner workers, Club and Track officials will monitor driver conduct throughout the event.  Any participant displaying unsafe conduct or not following the rules of the Club or Track will be expelled from the school and no refund of participation fees will be made.

All students (except approved solo drivers) will have an in-car instructor with them at all times during on-track driving sessions. In addition, students are encouraged to ride with their instructor to recognize the fine points of high performance driving.

Application for participation

To ensure fairness, registrants will be accepted in chronological order up to the maximum number of registrants in each run group. Applications beyond the maximum limit will be placed on a waitlist.
