Porscherama 2008

Pocono Raceway

About this event

PORSCHERAMA 2009

Sponsored by Ray Catena Porsche

September 12 and 13

Pocono International, Long Pond, PA

Porscherama 2009 registration is now open! We are extremely fortunate to have Ray Catena Porsche sponsoring Porscherama for the second year in a row: please stop by their dealership in Edison and say “Thank you!”

This year’s Porscherama includes the most requested features from past events and a streamlined schedule. Here are some highlights:

·          Two days of Drivers Education, including the double infield (and bowl?) on Saturday and two courses on Sunday.

·          The season’s best, and longest, Autocross course on Sunday. Fits nicely into the DE schedule, so sign up for both events!

·          The north course Time Trial on Sunday (do I hear bragging rights?)

·         A great Dinner / Party on Saturday evening (did someone mention door prizes?)

·         A Saturday Trek for those who can’t make the whole weekend: a leisurely drive to the Poconos for some spectating, cocktails, and dinner with your Porsche friends. With the option to drive on track in a special Touring Group session.

·         Sign up now at http://nnjr-pca.motorsportreg.com. Drivers, volunteers (we do need extra help, especially on Sunday), volunteer instructors, and Trek participants should all sign up online.

Your car must pass a pre-event tech inspection to participate in the DE or Time Trial. Mandatory Tech Inspection information can be found here. Out of region participants may have their car inspected by their region's tech inspectors. Please use the NNJR tech form found here.

MUST READ!! THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS ARE VERY IMPORTANT!!

The registration for this event requires a bit more attention than the usual DE or AX event. However, if you follow these instructions, then the process will go smoothly!

Please enter all requested information, including the dropdown menus.  Make sure you enter you PCA number, AX class, etc.  You can find your autocross class with this link:  http://www.nnjr-pca.com/site/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=13

Car numbers for DE and AX are still being worked on, so these are not being requested at the moment.

1.  The registration page contains a number of 'packages'.  The first screen you see will present the following packages (notice that a ‘package’ will have an open circle next to it):
  • DE Student
  • DE Solo Driver
  • Autocross
  • Rally
  • Concours
  • DE Instructor
  • DE Instructor Volunteer (Not Driving)
  • Volunteer
2. For students and solo drivers (non-instructors), start at the top of the list and select the first (top-most) package in the list containing an event you want to sign up for. For example, if you want to do DE, AX and Rally, select the appropriate DE package (because the DE packages are the top-most choices on the list) . If you want to do AX and Rally, select Autocross (because it appears in the list prior to Concours).  You can only select one package, but fear not, you can still sign up for your additional events!

3. Once a package is selected, the remaining events will appear underneath, this time with open squares next to the selections. Use only these selections with squares to sign up for additional events and ignore the rest of the 'packages' with open circles.  Also ignore the text next to each activity selection, this is a carryover from the 'package' descriptions.

For example, if you selected “DE Student”, the following additional selections will open up under this package.  Choose any additional events you want to sign up for.  You can hit 'clear' and start over if you make a mistake.
  • Autocross
  • Rally
  • Concours
If you selected the AX package, then DE will not be available within the package, but Rally and Concour will still appear. So forth with Rally (no DE or AX), and if you select the Concour package, there will be no other choices within the package.  Ignore the packages (with the circles) that still appear below the package you have selected.

4.  If you are an instructor, your only choices are Instructor or Volunteer instructor. Just as before, once a package is opened, you will be able to sign up for any other events (AX, Rally, etc.)

5.  Volunteer event workers (not volunteer instructors) will pick only "Volunteer".

Multi-event discounts will automatically be calculated and deducted from your total.

You may pay on-line by credit card (a 5% cancellation fee applies), or pay by check.  If you are paying by check, please make it out to "NNJR-PCA" and mail it to the following along with a copy of your registration receipt:

Craig Mahon
218 Beaver Run Road
Lafayette, NJ  07848
These check payment instructions will also appear when you complete your registration and will also be sent to you in a confirmation email.

All this is much easier that it sounds! If you have any registration questions, don’t hesitate to contact Craig Mahon at craig928@ptd.net  General questions on Porscherama can be sent to Porscherama@nnjr-pca.com
