Nemacolin Woodlands Resort

About this event

NCC SPRING TOUR 2012

May 4-6, 2012

This year’s Spring Tour will take place May 4-6, 2012.  Nemacolin Woodland Resort Lodge will serve as home base.  We will visit the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Falling Water and Kentucknob (optional).  On Sunday we will visit the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville (optional)

This overnight tour will have an optional second night.  The optional second night will allow people time to relax on Friday afternoon after the long drive.  This will give you time to enjoy the resort amenities on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Those of us leaving on Friday, May 4th,  will depart from Frederick, MD at 8 a.m.  Those of you leaving on Saturday, May 5th, will depart the same starting point at 8 a.m.  Someone will be appointed to handle the drivers’ meeting, answer questions, and hand out extra directions on Saturday.  We will stop for lunch on the way to the resort.  The lunch spot will be the same for the Saturday group as well.  On Saturday evening, we will have a dinner banquet.

(Taken from Nemacolin website)

Nemacolin Woodland Resort is AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star award winning resort which sits in a 2,000 acre beautiful forested area.  In addition to the internationally acclaimed Woodlands Spa, the resort offers 36-holes of championship golf on two courses - the Pete Dye designed, PGA-tested Mystic Rock and the traditional Links Course.  For shooting, visit the Nemacolin Field Club, featuring the Shooting Academy, an outdoors sporting facility on 140 acres complete with 30-stations, wing shooting, a spacious lodge and Orvis® Endorsed Fly Fishing.

For a more rugged and adventurous experience, try the many offerings of the Adventure Center.  Spend the afternoon or day at our Wildlife Academy, home of the Equestrian Center, animal nursery, animal habitats and educational programs.  Black bears, zebra, buffalo, tigers and hyenas are just some of over 100 animals that currently call Nemacolin home.

For shoppers, there are 14 specialty shops in Heritage Court and throughout the Resort, plus nearby Uniontown boasts the ultimate outdoor store, Woodlands World.
Nemacolin also boasts an impressive collection of restaurants and lounges, including the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Lautrec, a forward-thinking fine dining experience.  Lautrec received a AAA Five Diamond rating for 2008, 2009 and again for 2010 making it the only such rated restaurant between east coast cities such as Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and New York and Chicago.

Culture is also an experience at Nemacolin.  Enjoy daily art tours of the multi-million dollar Hardy Family Art Collection or Cooking Classes and Wine Tastings in the state-of-the-art Académie du Vin. Register today!  We have limited space available for this tour!

Event requirements

PLEASE READ REGISTRATION PAGE CAREFULLY.  IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR ISSUES, DON"T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME.

You can choose the non-members attending box in conjunction with choosing BMWCCA Primary & Associate members if you will have non-members attending with you.  All membership numbers will be verified.  Please be sure to have your member card with you on the day of tour.  If you have misplaced your card, contact the national office for a replacement.

You do not have to be a member to attend this tour.  If you are a non-member, definitely consider becoming a BMWCCA member.  You will recoup your $48 annual membership every year just by attending  a couple of club events.  For example, participate in one DIY event and do your own oil change will guarantee you recover the membership fee just in the labor cost you saved.

If you have a significant other living at the same address you can make them an Associate member for an additional $10/yr.  They will have all the rights as you, including voting.  The difference is they will not receive a copy of the Roundel. The number for the national office is 864.250.0022.

A few questions I have received

1. Would it be fine to go with the kids 7 and 4 y.o.?
Yes kids are always welcome. Start 'em young in the ways of the BMWCCA.

2. About the food: So I will pay $56 for the dinner and my wife will pay $56, but what about the kids, should I pay also $56 per child?
If you call the national office you can add your wife as an associate member for $10/yr and you won't have to pay the non-member price. She has the same member rights as you. She won't receive her own copy of the Roundel is the only difference. You should receive he member card in a week or so. But the member number will be active immediately.
I have asked the restaurants about kid meals. Your young ones obviously will not eat like an adult.   For dinner it would be $10/meal.  Some people whom have brought a small child will usually give them food off of their plate, because they know the child will waste a plate of their own.

Also What is included for these $56? Of course alcohol is included?  Dinner Saturday.

3. What part of the day do you want to take a trip to the place of the crash Flight 93?
This would be on Sunday morning

You can register now and book your room. Since I am not charging credit cards until 14 day prior to May 4, you have time to go back and edit you registration.
