Eastern Wahington Tour

Eastern washington Tour

About this event

This adventure will be one that I’ve wanted to take for some time, a trip to the Palouse region of Eastern Washington.  This is an interesting scenic, historical and geological area of the Western United states that holds promise of a great adventure for our group.  We will also tour the mountains of NE Oregon.  This document will likely be modified with new details as the event draws near, so please stay tuned to the Club Website.

Our friends at the Tri-Cities BMWCCA chapter have offered to show us some of the Palouse sites and some enjoyable roads for BMW fun.  The specific details of the trip are yet evolving, and input from participants will be welcome.  This will be a trip for folks who fancy some serious saddle time, great scenery, new friends and some good roads thrown in.

Here is the basic Concept:

We will travel from Portland to Walla-Walla Washington on Friday 7/20.  This will be a good push, about 250 miles.  After spending the night in Walla Walla, we’ll spend the Part of the next day, Saturday 7/21, in the company of the Inland Empire BMWCCA group exploring parts of the “Palouse Scenic Byways Tour” of far Eastern Washington.  (See this web link to get a feel of the attractions in this area)  http://www.palousescenicbyway.com/

After our friends from the Inland Empire group  depart for home, we spend Saturday night in another city in the area, perhaps Pullman WA.

Sunday Morning 7/22 we’ll head south through scenic Wallowa,  to LaGrand  for our last overnight stop, probably  about 180 miles.  Then, on Sunday 7/23, will make our final push back to home country, about 250 miles.

Within this framework we will work out the details of actual routes, lodging, morning meeting spots etc. between our group and the Inland Empire Folks folks.  I’d like to encourage members with actual or potential interest in this trip to sign up early and/or  contact me with any questions.  We’ll likely communicate by EMAIL and perhaps a driver’s meeting or two before blast off on 7/20.
