The Bluegrass Bimmers and Hoosier Chapter's of the BMW CCA would like you to join us for our annual Driving School Event. Students undergo a mixture of classroom and behind-the-wheel education under the supervision of trained instructors. The course of study includes vehicle dynamics, vehicle limits and limitations, driving line and track safety. Cars must undergo technical and safety inspections prior to coming to the event. Helmets are required (Snell 2005 or newer); a limited number of loaner helmets are available.
The cost for this event is $395 for both Saturday and Sunday. An early bird discount is available for registrations through May 10th for the reduced price of $350. Single day (Saturday or Sunday) registration is available for $250. Single day for 1st time students is only available for Saturday. Spaces are limited!
In an effort to expose more newcomers to the experience of tracking their cars we are also offering a "first timer" discount on the full weekend price, The cost for first timers is $350.
Putnam has installed garages at the facility, which be available to rent through the club. If you are interested in a garage, please email Bill Wade. His email is: bill.wade@gmail.com. 2012 attendee's are being notified now and will get "1st right of refusal."
A Track Orientation Day is scheduled for Friday, June 21st. It is available for all instructors and qualified students, by invitation, for an additional cost of $100 for instructors and $125 for students. Previously signed off ‘A’ Students interested in being considered for attending should check the appropriate box on the application form. We will contact you after evaluating your previous experience to inform you if you have been accepted.
Please be aware: Due to the success of our open passing last year, all "A" group run sessions will be run under the open passing (with a point by rules of course).
This Driving Event is a non-timed, non-competitive school and it is not a race or practice for a race. You need to read and understand the coverage and exclusions of your specific auto insurance policy and be prepared to assume the risk of participating in this school.
The organizing chapters carries additional liability insurance for this event, but that insurance does not cover any damages that may happen to your car or the faciliaty . That is your responsibility.
School Location: This year we'll celebrate our seventeenth annual driving school at Putnam Park Road Course, in Mount Meridian, IN www.putnampark.com . The Headquarters Hotel will be the Holiday Inn Express in Cloverdale, IN. Rooms have been blocked out at the Holiday Inn Express under our club's name. Please mention the BMW CCA Hoosier / Bluegrass Bimmers Drivers School to receive a special rate.
Event requirements
Please read these rules carefully before registering.
• APPLICATIONS MUST BE MADE ON -LINE AT WWW.MOTORSPORTREG.COM
• USE A SEPARATE APPLICATION FOR EACH DRIVER.
• OPENINGS WILL BE FILLED BASED IN ORDER OF RECEIPT.
• CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED PRIOR TO June 14, 2013 WILL BE ALLOWED AND REFUNDED. CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THAT WILL BE REFUNDED ONLY IF YOUR SPACE CAN BE FILLED WITH ANOTHER STUDENT. ALL CANCELLATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO A $50 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE. (Note: On the days of the driving school, students whose cars do not pass the track-side inspection will not be allowed on the track and no refunds will be made.)
• RENTAL CARS, CONVERTIBLES, T-TOPS, AND OPEN-WHEEL CARS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. ALL CARS MUST HAVE SEATS FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. ALL CARS MUST PASS A PRESCHOOL TECH INSPECTION. TECH FORMS WILL BE SENT OUT VIA EMAIL. TECH FORMS FROM RECENT BMW CCA SCHOOLS ARE ALLOWED AS LONG AS NO MORE THAN 4 WEEKS HAVE PASSED. CARS WITH HARNESS BELTS MUST HAVE EQUAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER. ALL STUDENT CARS MUST BE MUFFLED. NO COLOR TREADED TIRES ARE ALLOWED.
• SNELL 2005 (SA OR M) OR NEWER HELMETS REQUIRED .
• ALL PARTICIPANTS, GUESTS, FAMILY MEMBERS, STAFF AND SPECTATORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER BEFORE BEING ALLOWED INTO THE TRACK PROPERTY.
• THE BLUEGRASS BIMMERS AND HOOSIER CHAPTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY APPLICATION.
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE A CURRENT DRIVER'S LICENSE.
• PLEASE CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR REGISTRATION BY VISITING THE "DASHBOARD" SECTION OF YOUR DRIVERS ACCOUNT, AND CONFIRMED PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A LINK TO THE CONFIRMATION PACKAGE VIA EMAIL AT LEAST THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE EVENT CONTAINING THE MEDICAL, TECHNICAL INSPECTION, AND OTHER MATERIALS YOU WILL REQUIRE PRIOR TO THE SCHOOL.
• PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE PUTNAM PARK FACILITY CAUSED BY YOU WHILE ATTENDING THE DRIVER SCHOOL, INCLUDING WHILE IN YOUR OWN VEHICLE OR ANY OTHER VEHICLE BEING OPERATED BY YOU.
