NSXPO 2012

High Plains Raceway

About this event

Come join the NSX Club of America (NSXCA)
HPDE at High Plains Raceway
September 17th-18th, 2012

NSXCA's highly professional and safe track events, run annually for 15 years, offer students four 35-40 minute track sessions per day along with 2 classroom sessions. You'll appreciate the extra 10 minutes per session that our HPDE event provides over many other club events*.

Our track events are known for having small run groups and this event will be capped at well below the typically 60-150 or more participants that some clubs have.  Open track and Instructor run groups enjoy track sessions with very low numbers, usually only 15-20. It's like having your own track day for a fraction of the cost!

Student Registration before Aug 1, 2012                  $299.00

Student Registration Aug 1 - Sept. 7, 2012               $350.00

Instructor Registration until filled                                no charge

For the Novice Driver HPR provides lots of run-off room and is an easy-to-learn 15-turn track. making it a superb event for the first time student.  The NSXCA is a professionally run safety conscious club with experienced instructors providing a low-key supportive environment for learning High Performance Driving.  The skills you learn in the classroom and on the track can help you be a safer driver on the road.  Why don't you make this the year you try High Performance Driving?

For the Experienced Driver HPR is a great track for a 2 day High Performance Driving event. Fairly easy to learn, yet deceptively challenging to master, you will have plenty of time to explore the best lines through the varied elevations. You'll perfect the technical areas of the track while having a great time on High Plains Drifter, To Hell On A Bobsled and the Prairie Corkscrew.  NSXCA provides accomplished Instructors for all students to help you get the most out of your track time allowing you to improve your performance.

NSXPO, the NSXCA's annual convention, has been hosting a track event in North America and Canada since 1997.  You don't need an NSX to join us though you'll have the opportunity to drive with quite a few on the track. Come join us.

If you are a new Instructor for our organization please contact the Chief Instructor at NSXpoHPDE@gmail.com  prior to registering.

*Red Flag events could alter the session times.

Event requirements

  • No Timing Equipment Allowed.  Our Insurance prohibits it.  Our insurance covers the NSXCA for liability.  You are not covered by this policy for collision.  You should check your own policy for exclusions.  You are responsible for your vehicle and that of anyone else involved with you in a collision at this event including any damage to the track or facilities.
  • You must have a valid Driver's License and be 18 years or older.
  • Guest's that are 18 years or older are welcome.
  • No SUV's or Trucks on track.
  • Convertibles must have an approved roll bar that passes the broomstick test; 1" of space between the Helmet and the bottom of a broomstick when the broomstick is placed across the roll bar and the windshield.  Factory installed rollover protection, provided by rollbars in the S2000 and some Porsches, is acceptable.  If  you have any questions regarding the suitability of your vehicle please contact the Registrar at NSXpoHPDE@gmail.com prior to registering.  The HPR track and our insurance policy have a very strict policy on convertibles and they will not be allowed out on the track unless they meet the appropriate specifications. It is your responsible to verify that they do prior to registering.  Thank you!
  • A signed Tech Form should be completed prior to your arrival at the track.  No tech inspections will be completed at the track.  Your car should be inspected no more than 4-6 weeks prior to the event.  Tech Forms are now available on the Track page at  www.NSXpo.com or click here to download directly.
  • SNELL Helmet, 2005 or 2010 certification (either SA or M), closed or open faced.  Note that SNELL 2000 certified Helmets are no longer valid.  We may have a small number of loaner helmets that are available for Novice Drivers at the track.  Loaner helmets are on a first come-first serve basis and we can't guarantee that we'll have your size.  SNELL 2005 Helmets are fairly reasonable right now and can also be used for carting.  By picking up a SNELL 2005 Helmet prior to the track event you'll have one less thing to worry about on track day and you'll be ready for next year too!
  • Equal restraints for driver and passenger for student and instructor cars.
  • Long sleeve shirts and pants required; preferably natural fibers.
  • All student cars must have a passenger seat
  • The event will be held rain or shine.  The club may cancel or close down the event if the track or weather conditions pose an inordinate safety concern for the participants. The decision is that of the Chief Instructor's and Event Coordinator.
  • Participants will be required to vacate the paddock area by 7:00 PM each day; overnight camping will not be allowed.

NSXPO participants will register for the track and the social sessions at the same time when they arrive on Thursday evening/Friday morning at the Omni Interlocken Hotel.  NSXPO participants should bring their helmets to registration on Thursday evening/Friday morning.

Your run group preference will be evaluated by the Chief Instructor and may be changed based on their recommendations.  Please note that you need a recomendation from your last instructor to move up to the next run group.  If you would like to request an instructor please do so at the time of your registration and we will do our best to accomodate your request.

Instructors

A working Communicator is highly recommended.
A passenger seat is preferred - part of your job as an instructor is to take your student(s) around the track in your vehicle to demonstrate some of the skills you are trying to teach them.
Instructors should contact the Chief Instructor at NSXpoHPDE@gmail.com if you have not instructed with us before.

We sincerely appreciate and thank you for your participation!

All students and instructors should read their Information Packets thoroughly.  Most questions you may have will be answered in that packet.  Your Information Packet will be available for download from www.NSXpo.com on the Track page sometime in the next couple of months.  Tech Inspection Forms are now available for download from the same page or click here to download directly.
