2012 Tire Rack Sun Belt National Tour

With a Lincoln like surface and a college town minutes away, this may be as close to Lincoln as you can get without entering the state of Nebraska.
The National Solo Series has not made a stop at this site since 1995 and news of the return has put smiles on more than a few Solo veteran’s faces. Described as a classic WWII bomber base, the site, shaped like an X, features concert similar to that of the National Championship event. The event is being hosted by the venerable Southwest Region with Turbo-Todd Farris at the helm. Have no fear, if there is any problems getting the party started, the folks from Texas-Spokes will be there, along with Road Trip Racing to make sure a good time is had by all. College Station is just 20 minutes from the site, so plan to take in the sites and sounds of spring time on a college campus, just don’t be surprised if they look at you funny if you aren’t wearing boots and a 10 gallon hat. Check out the legendary Dixie Chicken for cold drinks and good eats or hit Martin’s Barbecue for a classic Texas combo plate.

The competition at a National Tour takes place over two days on two separate courses, like Solo Nationals. The first day, competitors each get three runs or chances to drive one of the courses and on the second day they get three runs on the other course. Like any other Solo competition, runs are timed to 1/1000th of a second and knocking a cone down means a penalty of 2 seconds added to that time. The best times from each course are added together for the final class standings. All classes at National Tours are the same, standard Solo classes that you’ll find at Solo Nationals and as defined by the SCCA in the Solo Rulebook.
Registration Fee $102. After March 12, 2012, 12pm CDT all entries must be faxed or scanned to the National office. A non-refundable fee of $138.00 is due for entries received after 12pm CDT.
