Are You a Driving Enthusiast? Join Us!

The Portland BMW Club was founded in 1971 to promote the enjoyment of owning and driving BMW automobiles. We are affiliated with the International Council of BMW Clubs Europe and BMW organizations worldwide. We are the official BMW Car Club for Oregon and SW Washington, and our membership extends to driving enthusiasts throughout the Pacific Northwest and B.C. Canada.  Our membership works on a pro-rated basis depending on the month you join.  Everyone renews in January each year.

Membership

As a member, you will receive benefits such as access to HPDE Schools at PIR, tech assistance, recommendations, discounts and opportunity to participate in Club social events. We welcome members from all marques as BMW ownership is not required to join the Portland BMW Club.

Events and Activities

We offer acclaimed HPDE Driving Schools at PIR for driving enthusiasts of all skills and those wanting to learn more about the driving and handling of their car.  Other events such as the Portland Historic Races, Oktoberfest, and the Holiday Banquet are popular.  We have BBQs, periodic driving tours, and monthly meetings.  Club monthly meetings are relaxed, fun, and informational – often with guest speakers or shop visits.  Meetings also provide information for our upcoming events. A wide variety of activities gives you plenty of opportunity to socialize with members and make new friends.  You do not have to own a BMW to participate in our HPDE events at Portland International Raceway.

Area dealers, independent shops, parts, and accessory stores support our activities by offering discounts to Club members – a great benefit!

Technical Assistance

The Club owns a variety of tools, tune-up equipment, manuals, and has a flatbed car trailer available for loan to Club members.  A variety of repair, performance, maintenance, and purchase recommendations are also available from our membership and business associates. 

Communication

Since 1971, we have published Das Rundschreiben, the Club’s periodic news-letter.  Our website provides the most current information about Club events, meetings, driving schools, tours, galleries, and technical tips.  We also offer members a classified section, and the Club has a Yahoo Groups Digest.
