Black Hills Rally 2009

Walter's Porsche

About this event

Hello Enthusiast,
Welcome to the 2009 Black Hills Rally (BHR). As in the past, this year will be filled with driving excitement, beautiful scenery, breathtaking landscapes, outstanding roads, camaraderie and BMW's !!  The average high in Hill City that weekend is 65 and the low is 35 (perfect for the hot tub or a camp fire).

We will head out on Thursday to arrive in Hill City, SD for an informal gathering as we all unpack and unwind. The "host" hotel will be a couple of cabins that we have reserved but the space is limited. Each cabin is fully finished with a fire place, hot tub, laundry, full kitchen, 2 full baths and BBQ grills. Each cabin will sleep 4 couples and 2 single adults. For those not liking the community lodging arrangements there will be rooms available at a nearby hotel for a super off-season price.

Friday morning we will go to the Blue Bell Lodge in the heart of Custer State Park to go horseback riding for a couple hours. If you have no interest in the Horseback ride there is a winery in Hill City, Mount Rushmore is just 30 minutes away or you could try your hand at the casinos in Deadwood/Lead OR check out wonderful roads. Lunch then will be provided at the Blue Bell Lodge before we drive Needles

Friday evening we will dine back at the cabins and have a old fashion BBQ and picnic
.
Saturday morning we will venture out on our scenic drive. This year we will head north to Deadwood/Lead via Nemo Rd and Spearfish Canyon. Once in Deadwood/Lead we will stretch our legs and walk the historic downtown and eventually end up at Kevin Costner's bar and grill, the Diamond Lil's for lunch. After some more sightseeing we will head back home via Spearfish Canyon and Nemo Rd again. Although it will be the same route, the sites will be different. Time to swap drivers...? I think so.

Saturday night we will indulge ourselves at the Alpine Inn for their famous filets and wonderful desert selection. Later we will retire back at the cabins fire side sharing pictures and stories of the weekend.

Sunday we will wrap up the weekend having breakfast under the heads at Mt Rushmore.

So Sheridan, what's it going to cost you ask? Since we do this off season we get the great deals. It will be $221/pp if you stay in the cabins or $116/pp if you furnish your own lodging. The horseback riding option will be an extra $35/pp. The registration fee will provide you with the Thursday reception buffet, Friday's BBQ back at the cabins, Saturday's dinner and desert at the Alpine Inn, breakfast Sunday at Mt Rushmore, lunches both days and breakfast at Mt Rushmore. The fee will also cover all park passes.
Registration opens August 1st !!
