July 18th is our annual Driver Skills day for Families and Young Drivers!
Important: This is a special event restricted to young drivers (ages 16 - 25) and family members participating together. Please do not register if you do not meet either of these categories. For questions on eligibility, contact the Registrar at driverskills_reg@pnwr.org. Driver Skills is a fun, educational event for families to complete together, and an excellent education for those new to driving. Young drivers must be at least 16 years old and in possession of a valid driver's license at the time of the event. (Learner's permits are not acceptable.) For families participating together, we can accommodate up to two drivers per vehicle.
Although this event is focused on families and young drivers, the curriculum is the same as our regular events. Driver Skills is a full-day course in the fundamentals of performance driving. You'll get lots of seat time, perfecting your technique on courses specifically designed to focus on these driving skills:
- looking ahead
- controlling weight transfer
- threshold braking
- throttle steer
- late-apex line
PNWR Instructors are there to provide valuable feedback on your performance after each run. The intensity level and focus on driving is high, but so is the fun level!
Entry fee is $55 with limited helmet rentals available for $30. (Helmet rental fee waived for those participants under 21 years of age.)
