Boston/New England SVTOA Auto X #6

Devens Airfield

About this event

Welcome to SVTOA Boston/New England's 6th and final Auto X of 2008.  If you have never been to one of our Auto X's you will not be disappointed! Our courses are just under 2 miles long and offer lots of seat time by limiting participation to only 48 cars!

Event requirements

There is a member fee and a non member fee. You must be an SVTOA member to select the 43 dollar registration fee. Log onto www.svtoa.com and follow the prompts for member registration. You do not need to own an SVT vehicle to obtain membership. The cost of membership is 47 if you are new, and 40 if you are renewing.

If you choose not to join SVTOA, please select the 68 dollar registration fee. Those selecting the lower price that have not renewed or joined will hear from me.

Things you need to know before you sign up to run with us.

1. You need a valid drivers license and the car you plan to use needs to have a current registration with valid sticker.  No dedicated racecars please. Your car must be street legal and have a full exhaust.

2. You will need a Snell SA2000 rated or newer helmet for 2008. NO Exceptions!  We have a few loaners available if you're trying Auto X for the first time but they will not be guaranteed, so go and get a proper helmet.

3. The event runs from 7am to 6pm and we run rain or shine.  Come prepared. It is important that you are able to stay the entire day!  When you are driving, someone else is working the course picking up the cones that are struck.  We need you to work the course while other people are driving.  If you can't stay the entire day please wait for an event that you can stay all day before signing up. If you leave early for the day with out notifying the event chair, you will not be allowed into future events.

4. In order to make things easier behind the scenes we are only doing electronic online payments.  We will not accept cash or checks.

5. You will need to select the appropriate class for your car when you sign up.. If you are unsure what class you belong in please contact us.  Here are the classes that we use at our events:

MR – Mustang Race Tire Class – Mustangs on tires with a tread wear rating of 150 or less

MS – Mustang Street Tire Class – Mustangs on tires with a tread wear rating of 150 or more.

L   - SVT Lightning pickups

FC  -  SVT Focus/Contour, and all front wheel drive vehicles.

ER - “Evil” Race Class (Non-Ford Cars) – Tires with a tread wear rating of 150 or less.

ES – “Evil” Street Class (Non-Ford Cars) - Tires with a tread wear rating of 150+

6. You will be asked during registration for a car number.  This is how we keep track of you at the event.  We have a list of permanent numbers that have been chosen  by other members and are not available to use.  You can request a permanent number and view the list of numbers HERE. If you already have a permanent number, please just enter that number only.

If you plan to run with us on a regular basis we ask that you please buy numbers for your car.  The number needs to be visible from both sides of the car and a course worker should be able to read it from a few hundred feet away.  Colored tape will work but please bring it with you.

If you don't have numbers we will gladly write numbers on your windows or doors with ugly bright pink window chalk that will take you 30 min to clean off later.  (Not entirely joking)
