If it is a party that you are looking for, the Houston Tour is designed specifically for you. Tour “Party Chief,” Zack Barnes is assembling a nearly endless supply of food and beverage to ensure that you will enjoy your time out of the car as much as you enjoy attacking the Roger ‘The Real’ Johnson designed course. This is a new site for the Houston Region. It is a 300x1000 lot adjacent to the Royal Purple Drag Strip. Solo competitors can take a few passes as part of the Friday Night Street Race Series. And if that is not enough, this event will feature two supplemental indexed Street Tire Classes, one for stock cars and one for cars modified beyond Stock Class rules. Don’t forget, this is Houston, so you can head to the Galleria for shopping and dining, head to St. Arnold’s Brewery for a cold and fresh one, or hit the locals favorite, Iguana Joe’s for Tex-Mex and a Margarita. If you Are looking to get a bit off the beaten path, check out Kemah Boardwalk on Galveston Bay for dining, shopping and the best sunset in Texas.

Bottom Line: The Houston Tour has been a “must do” event for over a decade now, the new location provides a better surface, more space and racetrack facilities. Get there in time for the welcome party in the Royal Purple Raceway Banquet Room and don’t leave until the Road Trip Racing guys say “the party’s over.”
The Tire Rack® SCCA Solo National Tour Road to Lincoln takes National Solo on the road to various locations around the country. These events average over 275 drivers from a wide geographical area, with most of the competitors coming from nearby states. These drivers come together to get a taste of the "Nationals" experience of competition and camaraderie as these events are presented in a format similar to that found in Lincoln.
The competition at a National Tour takes place over two days on two separate courses, like Solo Nationals. The first day, competitors each get three runs or chances to drive one of the courses and on the second day they get three runs on the other course. Like any other Solo competition, runs are timed to 1/1000th of a second and knocking a cone down means a penalty of 2 seconds added to that time. The best times from each course are added together for the final class standings. All classes at National Tours are the same, standard Solo classes that you’ll find at Solo Nationals and as defined by the SCCA in the Solo Rulebook.
