Neosho TireRack MiDiv Solo by R&S and SPS

Crowder College Truck Driving Schl

About this event

Ozark Mountain Region SCCA once again invites everyone to Crowder College Truck Driving School in Neosho, Missouri, for the opening round of the 2010 TireRack Midwest Division Solo Series presented by R&S Racing and Solo Performance Specialties.

Come enjoy Springtime weather and 375,000 square feet of grippy, tire-friendly, and unobstructed asphalt. Just south of Joplin, it is centrally located to the Midwest division, and is an easy four-lane haul from most locations via I-44 and US 71. The 2009 Neosho event was runner-up in the SCCA Division of the Year, and we hope to have as much fun this year!

Never been to a divisional-level autocross? If you're an SCCA member, this is your chance to compete against some of the best drivers from the Midwest by combining the best times from two days of competition. This will also be a points-paying event for OMRSCCA members. Loaner helmets will be available.

Crowder College - Neosho, MO

Event Format

This is a sanctioned Sports Car Club of America Solo event held under the 2010 Solo Rules and 2010 R&S/SPS MiDiv Solo Series rules, supplemented by the following regulations. A minimum of three runs each of the two days will be allotted.

Site Information

Everyone entering the site must sign a Crowder College safety waiver in addition to the standard SCCA waiver requirements.

Lunch will be sold by Crowder College on site.

Paddock Space is available on a first-come, first serve basis as outlined on the site map. Entrances to the site will be locked overnight. Vehicles may be left overnight, but no guarantees of security are implied. No overnight camping or RV occupancy is allowed inside the gated area. There is room to park RVs outside the gates, but there are no hookups.

In addition to porta-johns, a restroom building is also located at the opposite corner of the lot from the tower.

Local Services

The nearest gas stations are approximately two miles from the event site, located just North of highway MO-D on US 59/71. The closest car wash is located behind the Kum & Go gas station on the West side of the intersection of US 59/71 and Industrial Avenue.

O’Reilly Auto and Autozone parts stores and many grocery and fast food stores are located on Business 60 (Neosho Blvd.). Take US 59/71 North past the intersection of US 60 and 59/71. Bear right, and the road becomes Business 60 as it passes through the town’s main commercial district.

Safety and Conduct

Spectators and competitors not working must view the course from designated spectator points. The grass area between the asphalt autocross pad and the street running parallel is off-limits to spectators unless specifically marked as such by barriers.

A walking pace must be maintained in areas outside course. Speeding, burnouts, tire-warming, and other inappropriate activities at or near the site are potential grounds for event disqualification at the discretion of the series Solo Steward, event chairperson, safety stewards, or their designees. The site borders a college campus, and there will be no tolerance for unsafe, reckless, or unsportsmanlike behavior.

In grid and paddock, please drive slow and be mindful of people, cars, equipment, and oncoming traffic sharing close quarters. Be aware that youth karts are anticipated entrants, and that no vehicles may be in motion during their runs.

No alcohol is allowed on the Crowder College campus.

A limited number of loaner helmets will be available. If using one during a run, please return it to the loaner helmet area.

Run/Work

Run/work assignments will be pre-assigned based on the entry list, and in a manner that balances heat sizes and worker coverage. Changes in class or no-shows may demand a change in heat arrangement.

Workers should be ready to report for work before their heat begins. Heat changeovers will be brief. Please listen for announcements made by the Chief or Workers and be on time for your work assignment. Lateness may be taken as a no-show, and result in a disqualification.

Vehicle Identification and Marking

Car number and class must meet the minimum requirements outlined in the Solo Rules. Shoe polish is not acceptable.

Cars must display the applicable series contingency stickers. Decals will be available from Tech and the event sponsors, and will be checked during tech inspection.

Impound and Protests

Results will be posted on the timing and scoring trailer during each heat. Immediately report discrepancies to the event chair or his designee so that they can be brought to timing and scoring for review. Please do not bother the timing and scoring trailer during competition.

Cars must remain in their grid spot after competition runs until released by grid personnel. If equipped, cars must have their trunks and hoods open after their last run of the heat.

Protests must be reported immediately to the chief of grid, event chair, or series Solo Steward for review by the series Solo Steward.

Ozark Mountain Region SCCA Points Event (applies to OMRSCCA members only)

The combined two-day result will count towards the year-end regional points championship for OMRSCCA members.
