Cat on a Hot Tin Roof RallyCross

Alaska State Fairgrounds

About this event

The Arctic Alaska Region, of the Sports Car Club of America, will be sanctioning the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof RallyCross on Saturday, March 24th at the Alaska State Fairgrounds, Palmer, Alaska. This will be the first of these in Alaska and the Region is looking forward to bringing this style of competition to enthusiasts. Competitors will get a minimum of four runs on the course before Timing's Jeff Lynn makes the brackets for the double elimination drag races. Given the format of the day, you should be ready for "lots of seat time" and a new form of RallyCross competition!

All competitors who register by the 12:00PM, Friday, March 23rd's online close of registration will receive an SCCA RallyCross decal for their vehicle! Of course, you can register trackside on Saturday morning between 9:00-9:30AM too, yet Event Chairman Bill Demming encourages your to register online to help with our preparation for this challenging event!

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof RallyCross Schedule

Saturday, March 24th — Alaska State Fairgrounds

From the Broadway play and movie of the same name,
"What is the victory of a cat on a hot tin roof?
Just staying on it I guess, long as she can."
8:00AM - RallyCross Team Arrival
9:00 AM  -  9:30 AM - Registration Hours
All competitors will need to come by Registration upon arrival — both those who registered online and those who choose to register at the event. Note that Registration is only open for 30-minutes. You will then head to Tech for your vehicle inspection. It is best to arrive early so you'll have more time to walk the course!

Cars will be gridded departing tech, and we will have the first car on course immediately after the Driver's Meeting. The number of runs will be determined from the number of competitors, with a minimum of four runs prior the the double-elimination RallyCross Drags. There will be a 30-minute lunch break (the RallyCross Team will be reviewing the course) and then resume with the RallyCross Drag portion of the afternoon.

Awards after Competition - Not later than 4:30PM

CLASSES, CAR PREPARATION AND MODIFICATIONS

Each competitor will be required to present their vehicle ready for inspection to Cose's Tech Inspection Team at 9AM. Vehicles shall have mufflers, working seatbelts, and NO leaking fluids, in addition to the other items on the Tech Sheet. Vehicles deemed too loud by the RallyCross Safety Steward, Event Chairman and the Tech Inspector will not be allowed to participate; please do Alaska's Motorsport Community the courtesy of having your vehicle muffled.

Vehicles with a high-center of gravity (lifted trucks) or vehicles emitting excessive noise will not be allowed to compete. This decision will be at the discretion of the Event Chairman and Tech Inspector.
