Team Tandem Rules:

  2. Follow all T1 & T2 previous rules
  3. No passengers during competition runs
  4. Min. 3 drivers & Max 3 drivers
  5. Fallow all previous tech guidelines

Team tandem is an art form. 3 cars will be challenged to work together and be one throughout the course and drift close to one another.  You must maintain a distance of  10ft or less from one another, beyond that you will receive a 0. Speed will not be a factor. You will need to be as close as possible to each clipping point. If any car in the group is unable to hold drift, angle, or is to far from another member at any given area on course the TEAM will receive a 0. If a cone is knocked down by any member the team will receive a 0.

Competition guidelines:

Point scale will be from 0-5

0 = no points

1 = Fair

2 = Good

3 = Excellent

 In the past favoritism and poor judging led to bad experiences and a huge downfall to the grass roots community. We hate competitions at Southeast Drift, mainly because I hate politics, but there must be a way for the drivers to rank themselves and have a goal to accomplish, after all what are we practicing for? Some practice for fun like me, and others want to see where they rank. At the end we all need to keep the sport safe and fun for the drivers and family.

All judges will be placed in key areas on the track separated from one another. Each one will look for something different. Speed, Angle, and Clipping points will all be judged. Speed will be judged by a speed gun. Your max speed will need to be reached at a certain point on the track which will be clearly marked taking into account the different power ranges. Angle will be judged overall, but will be a combined score from 3 to 5 different key areas which will be judged by 3 to 5 different judges. Example = area A you score a 2, area B you score a 1, area C you score a 3 = a combined score of 6 for angle. Clipping points will be judged by the distance from the cone, but will = a combined score. A line will be marked every foot away from the cone up to 3ft. After 3ft you will receive a 0 for that clipping point. There will always be a minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 clipping points each layout. Each foot will give you a point. The closer you are the higher the point. The maximum for each clipping point you can receive will be 3. Example: 1st cp = 2, 2nd cp = 1, 3rd cp = 3 Total score for clipping points = 6

At the end all points will be totaled and you will be placed in ranking. We will do a top 32 ranking. Only top 16 will move forward.

March 7th and 8th

Day 1 will be a full practice day. Team tandem will take place during the T1 and T2 groups towards the end of the day. This will allow for up to 25 runs with your team. This will not affect single run groups. Single run groups will get up to 30 runs before the competition the next date.

Day 2 will be a full competition day. Everyone will receive 7 total runs. The second go round you will get 3 runs with the 3rd being judged. We are not choosing the best run out of the 3. Your last run will be the only one that counts. This will give you a total of 7 runs day of before qualifying not including the 30 runs from the day before. The course will be the same layout through out both days.

This will be a prize day. No monies will be given out. The team that wins team tandem will receive 3 crowns. There will only be a first place winner with team tandem. Single run competition will be a 3 place finish. 1st,2nd, and 3rd place. All will receive a trophy/Prize and receive an invitation to a D1 Qualifier near you. Details for D1 Underground can be found at d1underground.com
