Friday Advanced Lapping & Instructor Clinic

The lapping sessions are open to advanced and instructor level drivers (intermediate drivers may be allowed to enter with experience on this track, and with approval from a previous instructor.)  Friday's lapping schedule will be open lapping sessions each hour with "rest" checkers and breaks for the instructor clinic groups if needed (depening on attendance)... so you'll have more lapping fun than you can shake a stick at.

Instructor Clinic is SOLD OUT!!

If you're interested in instructing with TZC/THSCC, you are welcome to sign up for the Level I Instructor clinic (classroom only). Instructors for other clubs who have not instructed with TZC/THSCC must attend the Level II clinic to be considered (classroom + evaluation sessions). TZC/THSCC will also be sending out invites for (and giving priority to) advanced drivers who have shown interest in instructing and proficiency in skill throughout the TZC/THSCC HPDE system.

In an effort to maintain the highest possible standards for our events, and to provide the best in-car instruction out there, we require that all new instructors, and instructors who may not have instructed within the last year or more, attend this clinic.  This clinic is mandatory for any instructor with less than 10 events instructing with a national club, or any instructor who has not instructed in the last 2 years or more.  All new instructor applicants must fill out and return our new instructor application form.

Clinic Level I attendees will receive classroom instruction, then be able to drive in the open lapping sessions.

Clinic Level II attendees will attend the classroom sessions AND will be evaluated in-car by one of our instructor mentors.  Level II participants are expected to provide their own in-car communicator (since you'll need one to instruct anyway.)

Clinic Level III is reserved for current instructors needing our mandatory refresher (once every two years) or for current instructors who simply want to give back to the program and help mentor and evaluate the Level II attendees. Level III Mentors MUST have a passenger seat with equal safety.

Saturday/Sunday High Performance Drivers Education

Any driver with a valid US-issued driver's license may attend (under 18 must have parent or legal guardian present).  Car must pass an annual vehicle inspection (detailed on the confirmation page) to show they are appropriate for track use.  Drivers must wear a helmet and proper clothing (detailed on the confirmation page).

Saturday and Sunday, you can expect three 25 to 30 minute driving sessions each day with classroom discussions held between sessions.  Students will be grouped based on experience level into FOUR groups:

  • GREEN for novice and beginner students (generally 0-3 events)
  • YELLOW for novice/intermediate students (3-10 events)
  • BLUE for upper intermediate/advanced students (10-40 events)
  • RED for upper advanced/instructor overflow (30+ events with verifiable solo experience)
  • WHITE- Instructor group

NOTE FOR THIS EVENT ONLY!! WE WILL ONLY RUN THREE NON-INSTRUCTOR RUN GROUPS FOR THIS EVENT. SIGN UP AS NORMAL BASED ON THE ABOVE CRITERIA AND WE WILL PLACE YOU IN THE APPROPRIATE GROUP BASED ON PREVIOUS FEEDBACK AND HISTORY. EACH NON-INSTRUCTOR GROUP WILL GET AN EXTRA RUN GROUP EACH DAY FOR A TOTAL OF 8 25-30 MINUTE SESSIONS OVER THE COURSE OF THE WEEKEND.

An instructor is included with Green, Yellow, and Blue run groups.  If you are signing up for our Red solo group, you will be asked for previous event details.

Saturday/Sunday Time Trial

The Time Trial is an additional entry option for drivers meeting certain experience and vehicle requirements. Time Trial entrants get an extra 15 minute time trial only run group each afternoon once the DE rotations are done.

Time Trial vehicles and drivers are required to have:
  • At least a 4-point competition approved roll bar
  • 5,6, or 7 point competition harnesses, mounted properly, current date (no older than FIA expiration OR no older than 5yr from SFI date of manufacture)
  • Metal-to-metal mounted fire extinguisher or working fire supression system
  • AMB transponder
  • At least two DE events WITH solo sign-off in intermediate (yellow) group or above. Yellow group TT drivers must have instructor approval for time trial

Time Trial sessions are based on the number of time trial participants. Each time trial group will be generated from lap times sampled from random run groups throughout the day (these times are not published until the TT groups have been established.)

Time Trial sessions will be at least 12 minutes of hot lapping time, in which you must record at least one green-flag lap to be eligble for points. TZC/THSCC is required to provide at least three green-flag laps for the session to be official.

Time Trial sessions are open-passing (with a point).

Please note: if you have not participated in a THSCC Time Trial before, you must request a Time Trial Audit Questionaire from Mark Vitacco (Click to Email)

Instructors Only:  If you do not see an 'Instructor Entry' option when you register, it means we do not have you authorized as an instructor in MotorsportReg for our club.

  • Did you create a new account unnecessarily?
  • Is this your first TZC/THSCC event?

If you are an instructor and you answered YES to either question, please email us ASAP (or download and fill out the instructor application mentioned above and sign up for the Level II clinic)
