CSCC Autocross School

$125   Saturday & Sunday School

All entrants MUST BE SCCA members. Non-members can purchase an SCCA weekend membership for $15 as part of their online registration. Those purchasing a weekend membership will receive a credit of $15 toward the purchase of a yearly SCCA membership.

Description:  

Saturday will consist of a “chalk-talk” session familiarizing all participants in the basics of auto-x, course element identification and separate practice elements, full course line and driving critique, as well as a dedicated instructor paired with you for the weekend to help.

Sunday will consist of continued one on one work with your same instructor on a full course along with ride along with your instructor in their car.

Times:  This is a work/run event. Proposed schedule (subject to change without notice):
7:00am - Check-in and Tech inspection.
8:00am - Mandatory Drivers Meeting and "Ground School/Chalk Talk"
12:00pm - Lunch (Approximate)

5:00pm - End of Event (Approximate)
In order to maximize this school - it is essential that everyone arrives on-time and stick to the schedule all day. 

Safety: 

  • Safety is a priority.  A proper fitting helmet with at least a Snell 2000 or M2000 rating is required. The helmet can be SA, M or K rated. An open-face vs. a closed-face helmet is a driver preference.  
  • Some loaner helmets (and free head socks) will be available.
  • One common place of non-compliance during tech inspection is a secure tie-down for your battery.  Please check to make sure you have a safe and secure way to keep you battery in place or you will NOT be able to race.
  • No alcohol or intoxicants may be used on this event site at any time.
  • Children under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by both parents.
  • Waiver forms and requirements are available at SCCA.com.  
  • Passengers, other than instructors, will not be allowed on Saturday.
  • In car cameras are only allowed if securely attached to the car per SCCA rules and are approved during Tech Inspection.
  • Obey all the El Toro posted speed limits (Access road 25 MPH max) and do not wander around or enter unauthorized areas outside of our portion of the runway.
  • 5 MPH maximum in the pits.  
  • Photographers wishing to photograph from on-course, must have a "spotter" and get prior permission from the Event Master and Solo Safety Steward. 


Special Rules: 

  • Noise limits: 95dB at 50 feet.
  • No passengers, other than official instructors, will be allowed at this event.  
  • Sharing of cars by students cannot be accommodated and therefore will not be allowed.
  • No sharing of entry for this event.  
  • Students of the School get first chance at the practice.

Event requirements

School Eligibility:

Novice Eligibility: A person who has participated no more than 3 days per year within the last 3 years. A day is defined as any autocross or Solo event, run by any organization not limited to CSCC Solo or SCCA.

Beginner Eligibility: A person who has not participated in a full points season with the CSCC region or any of its counterparts. A full points season is defined as running enough races during a regular season to be considered a competitor in the class which they are running

Intermediate Eligibility: A person who has participated in a full points season with the CSCC region or any of its counterparts and is looking to further improve their driving school with one on one time with a more experienced driver coaching them throughout the day.

Instructor Eligibility:  By application or invitation of the Event Masters only.

Entry granted on a first-come/first-in basis. If the number of applications received on the final day exceeds the number of spaces available, late entrants will be put on a wait list.  Entry limit is 50 students.  No restrictions at this time on type of entries.
