Motor State Distributing, Lane Automotive and Allstar Performance Products will be hosting the 5th  Annual “Motor State Challenge” on July 25-27, 2013 in Watervliet, MI.

A full schedule of activities is already confirmed so you won’t want to miss this happening. Situated in the Southwest Corner of the Great Lake State of Michigan, participants and spectators will be surrounded by lush, rolling vineyards and, of course, beautiful Lake Michigan.

Scheduled events include:

Thursday – Driver check-in, facility tours of Motor State Distributing, one of the performance industry’s top warehouse distributors, drivers meeting followed by a cruise through the back roads of Harbor Country to the Classic 5-Mile Drive-In Movie Theater where cruisers will be treated to a family style cookout and car themed movie on the “Big Screen” (weather permitting). This will also be a car show night at the Drive-In where many of the local patrons will come out to see all the beautiful Motor State Challenge participant cars.

Friday - Road racing at Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, Michigan.

Saturday - Challenging timed autocross to wrap up the competition followed by presentation of awards and prizes.

Join us and experience what Pro-Touring is all about.  Three days filled with good times, good friends and some of the meanest Pro-Touring/G-Machines in the country. This event is the perfect opportunity to safely test your car’s performance on the autocross as well as on the road course. A great deal of hard work and preparation is involved in building a G-Machine; this is your chance to show off what your car can really do.

Several of the industry’s top manufacturers will also be on-hand for the event to answer questions and showcase their products and factory test cars.

Manufacturers participating in the event will be competing in the “Manufacturer Category” and are not eligible for prizes and giveaways, however they will compete in the “Manufacturer’s Shootout” for the overall “Motor State Challenge Manufacturer Champion” trophy. Manufacturers will be assigned spots using the same criteria as all other competitors; therefore they will be mixed within the established run groups. A “Manufacturer” is considered any competitor who designs, builds, and sells parts that enhance the performance and/or look of a vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to, all vendors selling products through Motor State Distributing.

We will do our best to match participants in groups with like skill level and speed.

GingerMan is a very open track with many safe run-off areas. It will still be stressed that you not let your speed exceed your skill level. With proper spacing and passing procedures, everyone will enjoy a safe outing with plenty of track time.

The GingerMan track day features road course hot laps without a speed regulating pace car. In the interest of safety, sessions will tentatively run for approximately 10 minutes each. Session duration is at the discretion of the SCCA race director. Since we're not limiting speed in the time trial groups, we will limit track time to prevent heat related malfunctions and failures such as brake fade and excessive oil/coolant temps.
