Extreme Speed Motorsports Wings & Dings Event

Virginia International Raceway

About this event

If you are reading this, it means you have been invited to join us on Thursday, February 26th for an open lapping / test & tune type event with lots of open track to have fun and test on your own schedule (sort-of.)*

Space is very limited for this event to help ensure one of its goals: low traffic.  We will be running two "run groups" based on speed potential.  Each group will have alternating hour-long sessions, with a combined session at the end of the day.

The groups will be loosely split between cars running quicker than 2:20 (Wings) around VIR Full Course and cars running slower than 2:20 (Dings).  If you don't know your lap times, please email us your experience and vehicle information (or just your name if all your info is in MotorsportReg.com).

The Wings group will be limited to 15-20 cars, with 10-15 cars maximum on track at any given time.  The Dings group will be limited to 20-30 cars with 20 cars maximum on track at any given time.  (Asphalt Ventures and ExtremeSpeed Online reserve the right to relax these restrictions at any time.)

Wings: $350

Dings: $300

Group discounts are available, but MUST be arranged before January 30th directly with Eric Hardcastle from ESO ... Email him here for details

NEW!!! NEW!!! NEW!!!

Professional coach Chuck Hawks (rEvolution Performance Enhancement & Speed Secrets) will be on hand to provide you with session-by-session coaching for only $50 per 1-hour session. This is first-come-first-served so book early as space is limited. Get the most out of your test sessions with Chuck's help!

Please continue to the requirements page for more details...

Event requirements

  • All drivers must be advanced level with prior open-lapping experience (for example: NASA HPDE4 or Time Trials, TZC/THSCC Red Group, Instructors, or drivers holding a current competition license.) Your experience level will be verified. (Sorry, no beginner or intermediate drivers.)
  • Passing will be allowed (even encouraged when necessary) any where with a point, including in turns.
  • Your car must have a current SCCA, BMWCCA Club Racing, NASA Club Racing, IMSA, or Grand-Am log book.  In lieu of that, your car must be teched where safety and suspension items are checked BEFORE arrival at the event. (The TZC/THSCC Annual Tech Form is a good example.)

  • Each group can expect at least 4 hours of track time
  • A Three-Strike policy will be in effect for this event...
    • 1st spin, verbal de-brief in hot pits
    • 2nd spin, verbal de-brief ... parked for that session
    • 3rd spin, verbal de-brief ... parked for the rest of the day, no refund
    • This pertains to out-of-control situations (on or off-track spins). Controlled drive-offs will not count against you (though you still must pit after any off so the grid marshal can check you and your car over.)
  • Standard Asphalt Ventures Ride-Along policy applies: guests must sign the Asphalt Ventures Ride-Along waiver and pay the $25 ride-along fee.  Drivers giving rides MUST have equal protection for his or her passenger (harnesses, seats, etc.)

All attendees will receive an event e-Packet containing full details, schedule, and host venue rules no later than 1 week prior to the event.  All event forms contained in the packet must be filled out, signed, and turned in at the event check in (Thursday morning, February 26th... 6:30 a.m. VIR North Course tower.)
