Where Eagles Dare Road Rally - Thursday, July 8th
The Arctic Alaska Region of the Sports Car Club of America will be sanctioning the 2010 Road Rally Championship, sponsored by RPM Alaska. The season will start off with Where Eagles Dare Road Rally on Thursday, July 8th. Rallyists will gather at the Carl's Jr Restaurant in Eagle River at 6PM. Do plan to arrive as close to 6PM as possible, as there are final registration matters to take care of, waiver forms to sign, and a quick vehicle tech inspection. Entry fees are $15 for the Driver and $15 for the Navigator. For those who do not hold an SCCA Membership, there is a $5 SCCA Weekend Membership available.
To refresh seasoned rallyists and to give those new to the sport a review of the Road Rally Generals, there will be there will be a Road Rally School at 6:00P to cover the basics of rallying.
Groovin' on the Bear Paw is the Chugiak-Eagle River theme this year, and this year is also the 25th Annual Bear Paw Road Rally! Rallymaster Cheryl Lynn will take Drivers and Navigators on familiar routes around the area in the 2010 rally season opener. Beginner route instructions are available for those new to the sport and we will end at a local restaurant for rally camaraderie and the scoring of the event!
Don't have a dedicated rally partner? No worries—we are encouraging folks to arrive and form teams at the starting location! Register up so folks know you're looking for a rally partner.
Event requirements
REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
We encourage all of you planning to enter this event to register here at http://www.motorsportreg.com. One of your team will need to register the vehicle and their position on the team (Driver or Navigator) and the other will need to register their position on the team and personal information only. The entry fee for the 2010 Road Rally Championship events is $15 for each SCCA member and an additional $5 dollars for those needing an SCCA Weekend Membership. Please bring exact cash or check for payment at the event.
Due to the nature of the motorsport known as Road Rally, Rallymasters must have ample copies of the Route Instructions and Checkpoint Slips prepared in advance of the event; there are no copiers along the highway! This is why we need your registration here and we will keep online registration open until 11:59PM on Wednesday, July 7th, for the Where Eagles Dare Road Rally.

DRIVERS LICENSES
Drivers must present a valid driver’s license. If under 18-years-of-age, competitors (anyone in the vehicle) will need an SCCA Minor Waiver signed by their parents (or legal guardians) and presented prior to competition. Contact the Region at 243-2122 or 745-2013 (9A-7P) to obtain a form prior to the event.
CLASSES and VEHICLE INSPECTION
RPM Alaska will recognize Expert and Novice Classes for this event.
Each team will be required to complete a Vehicle Inspection prior to the start of competition.
