About this event
Welcome to GVC's “Taste of the Track”
A half-day introduction to high performance driving at Watkins Glen for drivers who have never been to a driving school
Join us at historic Watkins Glen for an introduction to high-performance driving at GVC's Ultimate Driving School. Your day begins with a meet-and-greet with GVC driving school staff over complimentary coffee and donuts. There, you will also be introduced to your personal in-car instructor, who will show you around the track facilities, the garages and driving school paddock, so you can see how our driving schools are organized.
The morning continues with a special classroom session geared toward first-timers, followed by on-site tech inspection of your car. Then the fun begins! You spend a half-hour driving your own car on the Glen’s historic 3.4 mile road course, with your instructor coaching you from the passenger seat. After that, you take a ride-along session as a passenger in your instructor's car.
The day ends with a group luncheon and debriefing session with the instructors
Complimentary perks include:
- Loaner helmet (if you don't have your own; must be Snell 2005 or 2010, SA or M)
- Driving school event shirt
