2016 SIMA Summer Series is here!

Welcome to Sumas International Motorsport Academy's (SIMA) Summer Series registration. If you haven't had a chance to check our facility or attend an event, the summer series is a great place to start. Our participants are some of the best out there!. Extremely welcoming and friendly but also sharply competitive. SIMA also has amazing sponsors that provide almost $24 000 in racing product that is raffled off at each event!

May 7 - Speedway Configuration
June 11 - Backwards Full Configuration
July 15-17 - Standard
August 13 - Backwards Full Configuration
September 10 - Standard
October 15 & 16 - Standard / Speedway Configuration
October 16 - Banquet


REGISTRATION FEES
$60 Entry Fee when you register ONE WEEK in advance
$85 Entry Fee 
$35 Entry Fee for Second Class

DEADLINES
NEW ONLINE Registration closes Thursday night.
NEW ONSITE Registration opens Friday morning. See note below regarding insurance bands. 

FREE FRIDAY PRACTICE IF YOU PRE-REGISTER ONLINE
Pre-register online and Friday practice is free ($10 Insurance pass is applicable). NOTE: Otherwise, Friday practice for SIMA non-members is $50 plus $10 insurance band.

NEW 2-DAY INSURANCE BANDS
2-Day Arm Bands for race events are now available. Anyone who is practicing Friday will only have to sign the waiver on Friday and will not have to wait in any line ups on Saturday morning! You will not be given another arm band on Saturday, so please keep your arm band on from Friday! Price of arm bands will remain the same. One is included in your registration and Friday practice is $10. 

Please note:
Trailers & RV's are permitted to remain on the grounds overnight on Friday.

5:15pm Awards Ceremony

CLASSES  
 

Kid Kart
Age 5-7                                                                                

Kart must have Honda GX35 engine.  94 pump gas is the approved fuel and no grinding or engine work to be performed on engine. The kart must  be as supplied by manufacture.  (Tire must be an approved kid kart tire)

TAG Jr. 1
Age 8-11 

Gazelle (200 lbs), Mini Swift (205 lbs) unrestricted, 100 Leopard w/17mm,  intake, 2.5mm base gasket & 25mm Exhaust (235 lbs), Rotax Micro Max (235 lbs) Rotax International rules, X125 w/17mm intake & 22mm Exhaust  (235lbs) (See below for tire rule) ***Cadet Kart Only***

TAG Jr. 2 
Age 10-12

100 Leopard w/19mm intake and w/25mm Exhaust (265 lbs), 125 Leopard w/19mm intake and w/25mm Exhaust (275 lbs), X125 w/22mm restrictor and19mm Intake (275lbs), Rotax Mini Max (265 lbs) Rotax International rules(See below for tire rule)

TAG Jr. 3
Age 13-16

125 Leopard w/30mm Exhaust (320 lbs),  Rotax (320lbs) under Rotax international Rules,X30 w/31mm Exhaust (320 lbs),X125 w/25mm restrictor (320lbs) (See below for tire rule)

TAG Newbie/TAG Pro.

****TAG Newbie, no more than 2 years of karting experience or entry has not competed in two full seasons or not a regular racer.  Race by race review for eligibility to be moved in to TAG PRO.  SIMA reserves the right to decide placement**** (See below for tire rule)

Masters/Grand Masters
125cc Leopard (375lbs), Rotax (390lbs), Rotax Evo (410lbs), X30 (390lbs), Dragon (410lbs) Yamaha (320lbs), X125T 23mm carb (385lbs),  X125T27mm carb (400lbs)

Expert Shifter/ Sportsman Shifter
Age 16 up

Stock – Moto, Honda, TM Tag ICC (385lbs) X125S (380lbs) Modified Honda, ICC, TM Cross (410lbs) (See below for tire rule)
4 Stroke Sr light, Heavy and Junior

LIGHT - Engine rules as per IKF.  Light weights as follows (Stock) Clone (345lbs), (Stock) Honda (345lbs). Either modified engines (365 lbs), LO206 (355lbs)  World Formula (420lbs) 

HEAVY -  (Stock) Clone (365lbs), (Stock)  Honda (365lbs).  Either modified engines (380 lbs), LO206 (390lbs) World Formula (435lbs) 

Jr. 1 - Ages 7-11 Briggs LO-206 (240lbs).  Cadet chassis and yellow slide.

Jr. 2 - Ages 12 - 15 Briggs LO206 (300lbs).  Full size chassis.


SIMA reserves the right to assign drivers to classes based on engine config and weight*****(See below for tire rule)

 

  • All Senior Classes - Bridgestone YKC or YLC, MG Yellow, Red & White
  • Jr I,  II and III Class -  Bridgestone YLC,  Mojo D3 and MG Red.  Jr.1 can only use 4.50 sizes front and rear. Jr.2 and up can use 7.10 for all Jr classes.
  • Approved rain tires are MG, Bridgestone and Mojo

 **SIMA reserves the right to adjust weights in order to provide a level playing field. **
