Food and Beverages may be purchased on site for consumption within the event venue.
Outside Food and Beverages must remain in the Paddock area.

Saturday Practice Paddock and Track map

 

Facility:  Speed limit 10mph unless otherwise posted

  • Load-In begins at 7:45 Sunday September 22nd with Check-in at 8:30 in the COTA Store.
  • Absolutely no driving, parking, staking, etc in the green spaces.  Delicate Irrigation lines present.
  • Pre-reserved spaces will be marked with a cone and name of reservation holder.
  • Un-reserved spaces will be marked with a cone and number bring # to registration.
  • Paddock setups may not extend beyond the ends of the parking lines into the lane.
  • Camping not permitted without express permission from Race Director (additional fees may apply.)
  • No staking on COTA Property without express permission from Race Director.
  • Tents and other temporary structures must be secured with proper ballast weights.  No fuel containers, generators or other dangerous items are acceptable.
  • Trailers left overnight will be towed unless approved by Race Director (additional fees may apply.)
  • Waste gas, oil, used tires, rags, aerosol cans, and other items not suitable for a landfill must be removed from property by the participant or crew.
  • Outside food, beverages, and Alcohol are strictly prohibited inside the competition venue.  Paddock/Parking lot is outside.
  • No driving go-karts or any other motorized “pit” vehicles on property. (considerations may be made for the disabled.)
  • Observe paddock and other facility posted signs.  Only paddock, parking lot, main grandstand, and competition area associated with the Race Kart Round-Up are accessible to participants and the public. 

Competition Area Rules and Procedures

  • Every driver must have a driver wrist band indicating completion of a tech sheet and waiver.
    • Minor drivers must be accompanied by a legal guardian. 
    • Please understand this is a Race with Mixed Class Run Groups. We will use the “let pass” sign or blue flags when possible, but it is the overtaking driver’s responsibility to pass other karts safely with no contact.  Keep in mind multiple skill levels and classes may be practicing in each run group.
    • Policy regarding unsafe drivers: drivers posing a threat to participant or worker safety or fun due to:  lap time, control, awareness, behavior, etc. may face removal from competition. Type and severity of the issue will determine action taken.  A full refund may be made at Event Director’s discretion.
    • No driving karts outside comp area.  Karts move under power only in the hot pit or on track surface.
    • You must keep your paddock area clean and dispose of waste properly.  Violations will be charged to paddock holder for damages or disposal costs
    • All camping, paddock, and trailer parking rules must be adhered to.
    • Any foul language or other misconduct may result in the loss of driving privileges, expulsion from the facility, or if necessary, police summons.
    • We do not issue refunds for non-preforming karts, missing sessions or inclement weather.
    • No bumping in corners (bump drafting is allowable on straights prior to corner entry.)
    • No reckless/dangerous/un-sportsman like driving will be tolerated.
    • Consumption of alcohol before driving is strictly prohibited.
    • Participants must abide by all Flags, Digital flag guidelines, and worker instruction.
    • All drivers must come to a slow, controlled stop on track if the red flag or red lights are shown.
    • No passing under caution (Yellow) or Red flag (disabled/stranded karts may be passed under caution.
    • No cutting the course (if forced off course you must re-enter track safely with minimal impact to those on track)
    • Track limits are the “outside” white line.  Four wheels IN the red is allowable but touching the outside white or clipping apex barrier is exceeding track limits.  If an advantage is gained, you must slow to give up position or to prevent a fraudulent lap time.  Failure to comply will be penalized harshly.
    • Track limits not enforced at exit of turn 8.  Adjustments to enforcement occur at Race Directors discretion.
    • Crossing the timing loop is your responsibility.
    • Drivers are expected to enter pit at a slow and controlled speed.  Ignoring worker requests for caution will be considered misconduct and penalized accordingly.
    • Full gear is required at all times, which includes driving shoes/sneakers, long abrasive-resistant pants, abrasive-resistant jacket, gloves, full face helmet.  Additionally, neck collar, rib protector for juniors/cadet drivers
    • ‘X’ on back of helmet for all beginners.
  • Every Crew Member entering the pit or track area must have a crew wrist band (limit 2 per driver) indicating completion of a waiver.
    • Crew Members will stay in designated areas, unless otherwise authorized by Race Director.
    • You must keep your paddock area clean and dispose of waste properly.  Violations will be charged to paddock holder for damages or disposal costs
    • All camping, paddock, and trailer parking rules must be adhered to.
    • Any foul language or other misconduct may result in the loss of driving privileges, expulsion from the facility, or if necessary, police summons.
    • We do not issue refunds for non-preforming karts, missing sessions or inclement weather.
    • No reckless/dangerous/un-sportsman like behavior will be tolerated.
    • Consumption of alcohol before entering competition areas is strictly prohibited.
    • Crew will only physically interact with driver, kart, or equipment after scales unless authorized by scales staff.
