Various levels of in-car instruction and small-group classroom training provide a personal level of education which focuses on safety and improving track driving techniques for drivers of all ability levels.

We look forward to seeing you at the track!

How safe are HPDE track days?

High Performance Driving Education track days are very safe as long as you follow some basic tips.  Drive within your limits and do not be overly aggressive. This is not a competition, just a group of people enjoying their cars and time on the track. Be aware of your surroundings and pay attention to Corner Stations. Pass in the designated areas and only when given a point-by signal by the car directly in front of you. Know the meaning of each flag used at Corner Stations.

We recommend that you check with your auto insurance carrier to determine if your policy covers HPDE events.

We have partnered with Chizmark Larson Insurance and On Track Insurance for HPDE & Motorsports Insurance coverage.

(Check out our Driving Etiquette page for more tips)

How much time do I get on track?

All drivers will get approximately 2 hours of track time in addition to several classroom sessions.

Which run group should I register for?

There are 4 run groups (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Instructors) that are designated by driving experience. It is IMPORTANT that you register for the appropriate run group to ensure the safety of yourself and the other drivers.

Novice Group: This is for drivers ranging from NO track experience to very few days on the track. All Novice drivers will have various levels of in-car instruction throughout the day. Speeds will be limited, but progressively increasing with each session. Passing will be allowed in designated areas only, as the primary focus will be on proper driving line and being aware of your surroundings.

Intermediate Group: This group is for drivers who have completed several (5+) track days at a minimum of one track and have been approved to drive solo. Intermediate drivers can request an instructor (if available) if they have less experience at a particular track. Passing is done in designated areas and only when given a point-by signal.

Advanced Group: This is for drivers who have completed a minimum of 10 track days at a minimum of two separate tracks. Advanced drivers can request an instructor if available. Passing is done in designated areas and only when given a point-by signal.

Instructor Group: This is for instructors only. These individuals have demonstrated the skill-set and ability to impart their knowledge to other drivers effectively. Passing can be done anywhere on the track, but a point-by signal is still required.

Please remember these are basic guidelines to help you determine which run group best suits your experience. If you have any questions or concerns about signing up for a particular run group please feel free to contact us anytime.
