Come learn about the fundamentals of autocross competition, the thrilling practice of high performance driving skills with the emphasis on getting the most out of your car... accelerating, turning and braking in a safe environment at reasonable speeds. Get exposure to real timed driving events in your street car, and become a safer driver.
The Novice School will take place Saturday, May 21st, 2016, at Bremerton Motorsports Park, near Bremerton, WA. Students MUST be preregistered.
Price:
Non SCCA Member - $50 plus $10 for the required weekend SCCA membership.
SCCA Annual Member - $50 (Sign up for annual membership at scca.com).
Students receive a voucher for a free entry to one Northwest Region SCCA autocross event in 2016.
The event entry voucher is worth $30 alone; the education at the school is priceless!
Our instructor pool includes champions from both local and national autocross competitions. Registered entrants will be emailed a booklet of information prior to the event, and should study it well prior to the school.
This will be an all-day event. It includes a free lunch provided by the Lions Club. Please bring any additional food and drink you might want, including enough water to stay hydrated. DON'T miss lunch time at the track, this is when the Instructors get to play and you will have the chance to ride with the instructors in their car or yours, an experience that you will never forget.

Helmets:
If you have a helmet you can use, please bring it. The organization only has so many loaner helmets, so the more who can provide their own, the better. Your helmet must be rated Snell 2000 or newer (usually says on a sticker on the inside under the padding).
Car Prep:
Make sure the fluid levels in your car are correct... oil, power steering, brakes. etc.
Check your tire pressures. Your recommended tire pressure is on the sidewall of the tire; you'll want your pressure set to the pressure recommended. If you need help just ask.
You should remove all loose items from your vehicle including the trunk; ALL items including floor mats. The less you bring in your vehicle to the class, the less you need to remove when you get to the class.
No “R” (racing) compound tires (use only street tires, with a treadwear rating of 140 or greater).
Bring snacks or extra drinks if you want to, but the Lion's Club will provide breakfast sandwiches, coffee and other items for a fee. Lunch will be included with your registration in the school.
There are portable toilets on-site.
No alcohol, drugs, or firearms are allowed on site.
Be prepared for any forecasted weather (and maybe un-forecasted as well).
SCCA Insurance rules require all participants must have a valid driver’s license.
