About this event
A welcome to new members and appreciation of our loyal members will be held at The Barnstormers Grill at Candler Field near Griffin, GA. No lake; No mountains; but a unique setting of the 1920's with a grass sod airport including a mini museum of that era's autos and aircraft. There are many overhead photos depicting the growth of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport, originally named Candler Field, and many photos showing DC-3 's, 6's and 7's aircraft of Delta, Eastern, Southern and perhaps a Constellation from TWA. On a nice Spring day, the neighbors that live adjoining the airport may be out flying their Piper Cubs, Cessnas, Cherokees, antique bi-wings and perhaps a home built or ultra-light.
