Julian Drive 2014

This year’s road to Julian presents a repeat of prior year's route, ending at a relaxing buffet lunch at the Pine Hills Lodge in the mountains just outside of Julian.

From I-15 take Exit 58 for CA-79 S Just East of Pechanga Parkway (on the Right [South] side)
 

8:30 Mandatory drivers’ meeting.

 

8:45 First group departs! Others will depart at 10 minute intervals.

 

The altimeter will read 4500 feet when we stop for lunch at Pine Hills Lodge just outside Julian.   But WOW…. getting there we’ll get even higher. We’ll taste Rainbow, Rice and Couser Canyons and that’s just a warm-up.  Suddenly there’s Lilac Road, and then we’ll climb S6 almost to Mt. Palomar, and sail down S7 with breathtaking views of Lake Henshaw. Then we’re thrust onto the exhilarating Mesa Grande known to many car clubs for its series of hairpin turns. Finally we’ll be able to breathe as we cruise toward a buffet luncheon at the Pine Hills Lodge. At the Lodge, we’ll have time to visit with old friends and meet new ones, recounting our experiences along the road to Julian.
