Everybody Loves Raymond Gimmick Rally

Come join us for an official Gimmick Rally (different than a regular tour), the only one we will have this year.  One difference with a Rally is that there must be two people the the car (a driver and a navigator) and all cars drive the designated route on their own, not in a caravan style tour.  So come prepared to do some navigating and put your heads on a swivel to look for answers to the Gimmick Rally questions along the route (thus the reason for requiring two people in each car).

This summer gimmick rally starts at the Maytown Rest Stop off I-5 Southbound and will wind through the hills and low lands leading to Raymond, and the Northwest Carriage Museum. The museum is home to some famous and unique carriages seen in movies and from around the world. There is water everywhere and plenty of photo ops plus there is a maritime museum right next door too for those interested. Questions will be the gimmick part for the rally. Rally limited to 50 cars.  There can be more than two people in the car (Macan/Cayenne/Panamera), but there must be at least two and the primary passenger cannot be a minor.

Beginning at the Maytown rest stop, the cars will be sent out at one minute intervals to begin a wonderful adventure through the lowlands heading towards the town of Raymond.

There is a rest stop in Pe Ell for 15 minutes and then off for the final leg of the trip. The roads are great with more than enough turns to keep you happy. The scenery is fantastic and at the end you will pull into the Carriage Museum in Raymond for a guided tour of this fabulous facility with the hosts wearing period clothing. Some of the carriages have been painstakingly restored and some exactly the way they were found. Once the first 25 cars have arrived the tour will begin followed up by a catered lunch inside the museum. The second 25 cars will come in and have lunch and then take the tour. If you need to leave early make sure you start in the first group. Also, the gimmick aspect of the rally involves answering a number of questions. The top two teams to get the most right answers will wind some prizes from the PNWR store.

If you have time explore Raymond and if you want to you drive north and to Westport and go back home that way. The town is very quaint.

Your Rallymasters for this event is Jim & Karen Trask and Terry & Marilee  Nelson
