Come join us for this unique blend of enhancing your driving skills in a spirited manner while enjoying the fellowship of like-minded enthusiasts. The Barber Proving Grounds (part of the Barber Motorsports Park) is a new 22 acre, multi-use facility comprised of a track (the Handling Circuit) with multiple configuration possible. The track includes a large, banked turn and is designed to allow drivers to experience vehicles in a safe environment with minimal risk.
When you're not driving, you can relax in the comfort of the Hospitality Suite or Observation Deck (which overlooks the entire course) while you socialize with or watch your fellow drivers.
Cars will circulate the course spaced out in a solo manner, virtually eliminating the chance of car-to-car contact.
At lunch time, we'll all share a meal together in the suite - included with your registration. .
This is the perfect "first time" track event for anyone who wants to improve their driving skills but might feel intimidated by a large road course with many other cars around them. Experienced track drivers will enjoy the event as well, especially with the enhanced social aspect.
Think of this as a "Gentleman's DE (Driver Education)" event. This will be a fun, social event where enthusiasts driving all makes of sports and performance cars can enjoy a beautiful fall day together in the scenic setting of the Barber Motorsports Park.
In the afternoon, football fans can enjoy the Alabama/Tennessee game on the large screen TVs in the suite. Auburn fans - you won't miss a thing since that's an off weekend for you.
The Barber Proving Grounds is used by Mercedes-Benz North America as part of their Brand Immersion Experience.
And yes, all of this is included with your registration of just $200. If you'd like to bring your non-driving significant other or a friend to hang out during the day, their registration fee is $20 and includes lunch.
This is an official event of the Mercedes Benz Club of America.
Also available to all participants is a visit to the Mercedes-Benz US International Factory on Friday, October 14. We will be visiting the C-Class production lines. If you haven't visited in the last 18 months, you may have not seen this. Many people also enjoy shopping in the new Brand Immersion Center which was rebuilt in the last two years.
