Race Officials Crash-Fire-Rescue Class

The St. Louis Region is hosting a one-day class on how to work at a motorsports competition.  This school is for anyone, 16 years old or older, who is interested in working at race, rally, PDX or solo events.  The class is for experienced corner or other race workers who just want some practice using fire extinguishers as well as those who have never worked at a motorsports competition event and want to learn the basics of being a worker.  The class is open to anyone regardless of whether they belong to the SCCA or not.  If you support the 100 Acre Woods Rally, Solo Events, PCA Events, BMW Club Events, Local Drag Racing at Gateway, or even at local cirlce/dirt tracks you are welcome to attend this class.  If you pre-register by Noon on March 15th. we will even provide lunch for you.  If you decide the day of the event to attend please be prepared and bring your own lunch.

What You Will Learn:
8:30-9:30 Class for Corner Workers: Basics of being a road course corner worker at the track; flags, hand signals, basic equipment, how to be safe on the corner, radio protocols.
Crash-Fire-Recue Class: Basics of what is an emergency, responding to vehicle incidents, assessing driver condition and assisting fire-rescue staff, and use of both dry chemical and water extinguishers to fight vehicle fires.

Classroom sessions and registration will be held in the Road Course/Oval infield at the "Meeting Room" at the end of the garages.

 

Event requirements

Class is open to anyone 16 years old with a signed SCCA Minor waiver, or 18 years or older who signs a waiver at the event.  You should dress suitably for the weather, bring a set of work gloves and be prepared to get slightly dirty.  If you pre-register SCCA will provide lunch.  Water will be provided throughout the day.  Registation limited to 50 individuals.
