Join the Audi Club as we show support for Best Buddies, a charity dedicated to helping those with intellectual disabilities be more productive, and better assimilate with their peers and those around them. We encourage all of our members to support the work that our chapter is doing with Best Buddies by registering for this event. Your registration will help us make this event a success by filling the many volunteer roles assigned to our club.
Audi Club's Commitment to charity
Once each year, our chapter selects a worthwhile charity that could benefit from our financial support. For fiscal year 2011, ACGG has selected Best Buddies as the charity that will be the recipient of our financial donation. We look forward to many more years of working with Best Buddies to widen their umbrella of philanthropic support. More details about Best Buddies and this event can be found here.
Details of this event
We're looking for our members to support us in one of two different ways. First, you can choose to participate in this event as a rider, or walker. Riders and Walkers receive the club's help with the solicitation of donations for Best Buddies. Each rider or walker must secure a minimum of $1350 in donations, and our club will provide as much support as possible to help each rider/walker to achieve their goal. We currently expect to provide as much as $500 to help you achieve this goal.
If you're not a rider or a walker, then we ask that you help Best Buddies by volunteering for one of the various driving or administrative roles that are needed in order to make an event like this successful. These roles include
- Volunteer Guide Driver
- Starting line assistants
- Course Marshalls
- Rest stop assistants
- Finish line assistants

In addition to registering your intent to volunteer, or to ride or walk on the following pages, you will still need to register through Best Buddies, due to the requirement to fill out specific forms, and for other administrative purposes.

The Golden Gate Audi Club is looking to staff this event with as many as 20 volunteers to help Best Buddies succeed in making this a safe and fun event. This year we are also partnering with Audi of America, to deliver a larger financial contribution to this great charity than we did in 2010.
In 2010, we assembled a team of over 45 riders, and we raised more than $65,000 in donations for Best Buddies.
In order to volunteer to help at this event, it is not required that you donate to the charity, but we do ask that everyone that registers does what they can to help this worthy charity. We've made it easy for you to donate; Just select the number of $25 donations that you would like to give to Best Buddies, and we'll donate it to Best Buddies on your behalf. We'll also provide you with a receipt so that your donation is deductible.
Riders and Walkers
If you notify the Audi Club through this registration form, and you afilliate yourself with "Team Audi" during your registration on the Best Buddies website, we will provide you a number of aids to enhance this event for you.
All registered Riders and Walkers for Team Audi will have their hotel room reservation made, and paid for by Audi of America, (note: you must raise at least $1000 to qualify and room space is limited to the top 34 fundraisers on the team). Team Audi Riders and Walkers will also have a distinctive team jersey supplied to them, and don’t forget there is also an opportunity to swim in the world famous Neptune Pool for those who raise over $4000 prior to August 20. Please be sure to step up your fundraising efforts today!

Volunteer Guides: Our most important volunteer position, Guides receive an Audi for the weekend to transport our celebrities and VIP guests for the duration of the event. Number of volunteers needed: 10. Time requirement: Thurs. from 6pm-7pm, all day Friday and Saturday, and Sunday until 3 pm.
Start Line Assistants: Assist with venue setup, registration, parking coordination, and light cleanup duties. Number of volunteers needed: 25. Time requirement: Depending on start line (100, 62 or 15 mile start lines) - Saturday between 6am-1pm.
Course Marshalls: Assist riders stay on course route and caution traffic. Number of volunteers needed: 10. Time Requirement: Saturday shifts between 6am-5pm.
Rest Stop Assistants: Assist with venue setup, food and water distribution, and light cleanup duties. Number of volunteers needed: 25. Time requirement: Saturday shifts between 6am-5pm.
Finish Line Assistants: Assist with venue setup, food and water distribution, handing out awards, and light cleanup duties. Number of volunteers needed: 25. Time requirements: Saturday shifts from 10am-5pm.
All volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt, food and beverages, and that warm fuzzy feeling you get from doing a good thing!
Unfortunately, due to capacity limitations, volunteers are not permitted to attend the post ride BBQ and concert without meeting the same $1350 fundraising goal of our riders, walkers, and runners. One exception being Volunteer Guides who will accompany their VIP guest to that event.
