Maryhill Loops Road

About this event

Audi Club Northwest is excited to host the 10th annual Maryhill Loops Road Tour and Wine Tasting on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

The Maryhill Loops Road Tour is your chance to drive your car on the first macadam asphalt paved road in the Pacific Northwest! Owned by the Maryhill Museum of Art, it is generally only open to pedestrians and bicyclists (or crazy skateboarders!), but on Saturday, September 30th, ACNW has private use of the road. Over 2.8 miles and 25 curves (8 hairpins) the road rises 850 feet to its highest point. The drive on the Maryhill Loops Road is a tour so no helmets are required (or allowed), convertibles are allowed, and passengers are allowed and encouraged to come along for the fun!

On Friday we'll all get together for a no-host, optional group dinner at 7:00 pm at Ayutla Mexican Restaurant (next door to the event hotel in Goldendale).

On Saturday we will tour the Maryhill Loops Road beginning at 8:30 am. On Saturday evening we will gather at the Maryhill Winery bocce court pavilion for wine tasting and a German style catered dinner. This is an ideal way to relax and visit after a good day of fun driving!

We limit the number of drivers at this event to ensure a great experience for all! Because the event is so fun and we limit entries, the event will sell out quickly so be prepared to sign up right when registration opens!

If you sign up after the event is full, you will be placed on the waitlist in case we have any cancelations (this does happen, so keep the faith if you end up on the waitlist!).

Make it an entire weekend of fun! Belohnung is taking place at Oregon Raceway Park this same weekend. After securing your Maryhill registration for Saturday, head back to MotorsportReg and register separately for Belohnung on Sunday, October 1st. See the Belohnung registration page for event details and qualifications.

Each person who wants to drive on the Maryhill Loops Road on Saturday must complete their own registration. Drivers will be divided into two groups that will alternate driving on the loops road. If you are sharing a car, you and the other registered driver will be assigned to different groups so that you may each have the opportunity to drive the maximum number of times on the loops road.

Family and friends are welcome to come along and you can purchase lunch and/or the wine tasting and dinner for your guests for an additional fee even if they are not going to drive the loops road.

Audi Club North America (ACNA) membership is required for this event.  Drivers who are not yet members, or who need to renew an existing membership, may handle that using the Audi Club North America website (https://www.audiclubna.org/membership).

Our hotel for this event is the Quality Inn in Goldendale, WA. It is about 8 miles north of Maryhill Loops Road. We have a block of rooms reserved at a group discount rate. Reserve your room directly with the hotel at 509-773-5881 by September 18th and indicate you are with Audi Club Northwest to get our group rate. After September 18th our rooms will be released and the discount will no longer be available.

Note: When meals are a part of our events, ACNW will attempt to accommodate special dietary requirements if requested. However, meals are provided by third parties and circumstances may not always enable ACNW or its vendors to meet every special dietary need.

If you have any questions about this event please contact the Event Master Carrie Stewart at stewart.carrie@comcast.net or 206-930-2262.

Event requirements

Everyone must sign the Waiver when coming into the Maryhill Loops Road staging area. This requirement includes drivers and guests; it makes you part of the club's insurance coverage. Parents must also sign a Minor Waiver on behalf of anyone under age 18. No exceptions.

Everyone driving on Maryhill Loops Road is required to have a fire extinguisher in their car. In the event that a car goes off the road, you must have immediate access to a fire extinguisher to handle a brush fire. Fire extinguishers must be ABC rated and fully charged. Please let us know if you can bring your own, or ACNW has a few fire extinguishers for loan, but it will be up to you to secure it in your car . There are a few options for securing your fire extinguisher in your car. If you have a cargo net you can secure your fire extinguisher under the cargo net in your trunk. If you don't have a cargo net, you can lay the fire extinguisher on your back seat, fasten the seat belt, and secure your fire extinguisher to the lap belt with a velcro strap or bungee cord. ACNW will have some bungee cords on hand for those that need to do this.

This event is open to regularly licensed passenger vehicles only, including convertibles. It is not open to motorcycles, Slingshots, or vehicles that are not street-legal. Please contact the Event Master if you have any questions about whether your car qualifies.

Payment in full must be made by a pre-enrolled driver before registration closes, otherwise your registration will be canceled to allow another participant into that space.

Please contact the Event Master, Carrie Stewart, at stewart.carrie@comcast.net prior to the event with any questions about the event or about your registration.
